I stayed in the pinnacles campground site 61, and it was an absolutely lovely campground. Very private, next to a creek, and shaded by giant lovely trees. In comparison to camping at Yosemite where all the campsites were on top of each other, this one felt really spacious. We fit three two person tents, one car, with the firepit and the picnic table. We could've easily fit multiple more tents. We had a great time at the campground!

Beautiful campground with abundant wildlife and dense plant growth. Peaceful. The weather was quite pleasant during my mid September visit.

Everything about this location was great but bring your own wood because it is $17 for a VERY small box at the camp store.

Great campground. Our sites were private. Some were not. Watch out for food at night. The raccoons were brave but easy to scare off.

Lots of different kinds of sites, some short and not very level in the non+ utility area which is where we stayed. Some longer and better for an RV like ours (27 including the bikes) No generators allowed which makes for a nice, quiet campground. We rode our bikes to the Old Pinnacles Trailhead, then hiked which we quite enjoyed.

Site 61 is stunning. It is large and fully shaded. There are many spots to pitch your tent and hang a hammock. You even have a lower level where a small creek is running. Great bird watching on site and many cute raccoons at night. Be careful and dont leave food out. Simple, mobile bathrooms are a short walk away and a spicket is close-by. The campground is great, ample wildlife (deer, turkeys, quail) and the campstore is well equipped. Also, free showers and a swimming pool!

The weather was pretty hot for May and I don't think I could hike here in July or August, or Sept for that matter. Also the mosquitos were very bad at our camp space which was near the little shallow creek (#61). The hiking was very nice but I think probably better in the cooler spring or very late autumn, and whenever the mosquitos are scarce. The toilet/ showers were great ! Better than I expected for camping. (There were only port a potties near #61 but we would walk the distance to avoid a port a potty.)

Great experience except for missing bathrooms in loop C. The portal toilets were difficult to use during the night due to lack of lighting. The portable sinks had chlorinated water which makes face washing and teeth brushing harsh. There were also no staff to check us in or out of the park. Showers could be cleaned more often. Otherwise, great staff and well maintained campgrounds.

Our specific site was wonderful, offering ample shade and a perfect spot for hanging a hammock. Right beside our site, a creek flowed, and we had the delightful opportunity to see a turkey with its baby, numerous rabbits, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and a variety of birds. Therefore, it's essential to remember to store your food in the provided box or your car to avoid attracting wildlife. Given the scorching weather, the free pool and showers for campers were a welcomed relief, especially since temperatures exceeded 100 degrees during our stay.During our short visit, we completed the Balconies Cave (Talus Caves) and Reservoir hike, where we saw bats and even spotted a California Condor! Additionally, we observed that the Rangers and Camp Staff opened hoods when parked, likely indicating a rodent problem. As a precaution, I would recommend opening the hood when parked and overnight to reduce the chance of any uninvited guests!

There was not active monitoring of quiet hours. I did not get great sleep as a large group was up and noisy into the wee-hours. Good facilities. Some campsites better than others; some were so small could barely fit a backpacking tent.

Great. My favorite loop is C-loop, furthest from the store and showers. Some sites are private, many are not, or only as a group or pair of neighboring sites (like 58-59-60, beautiful but all connected esp 58-59 look right at each other). Most sites on road between store and C loop are RIGHT on the road, no privacy from cars or people walking by. B-loop has a few nice sites but some are in the baking open and no privacy. Some sites are very shady - important because it can be hot anytime. It was in the 80's early Dec 2021 (very cold at night and until late in the morning though). 90's to 100 here in spring and fall, don't come May-Sep. This visit early Nov 2022 was the coldest ever, frost in the a.m. and only up to the 50's to low 60's during the days. Always marauding raccoons after your food ANY TIME OF DAY, esp at any of the sites near the creek, BOTH sides of the road not just the creek side. Don't leave food on table even for a second, or your car door open while setting up camp. Raccoons will be in there so quick. We know and we STILL got burned! Ignore them if no food is out, no point exhausting yourself and neighbors yelling & chasing, they come right back. Don't dump dishwater or any crumbs in camp only on the ROAD. Raccoons will spend hours rooting in your dirt for those smells. This year there was also a fox scouting for camp food - so beautiful - and we saw a bobcat two late afternoons right in the main campground road next to B-loop. So watch your small pets. Coyotes are around too, though I haven't seen them in the campground, just next to it on the hillside. So many birds, also deer wandering through eating acorns and leaves. The condors circle high around that hill to the south late afternoon and then roost in the trees up there, bring binnocs to make sure they are condors and not turkey vultures as there are more turkey vultures than condors. Camp store and visitors' Center next to it have posted info on how to tell the difference.

The campground itself was clean and most campgrounds had trees. The campground I originally booked seemed to be way too close though to another campground and had the least amount of shade. Luckily, I spoke with the staff at the campground office and they were able to take care of me and help me find a more isolated campground with better shade. The camp office and store are relatively small compared to other National Parks I visited. I did not make it to the nature center unfortunately on my recent visit. The store has the minimum amount of food but it does have premade sandwiches and other small meals for those who are less interested in cooking.Restrooms were clean and stocked. The showers were free and had free toiletries. There seems to be only one set of showers though for the entire campground. There were only two available in the men's space. I can't imagine what a peak weekend would be like if these really were the only two restrooms. Otherwise, the water was hot and pressure was nice. There is also a pool but unfortunately it was closed. This campground is near the caves and reservoir so there is a lot to do within a few miles of the campground. There is also bouldering/rock climbing from the looks of the gear some hikers had on the way down the trail back to a parking lot. The hikes are well maintained. The highways to get to the park is full of road kill. Drive slow especially at night. I can't imagine hitting a larger mammal like a coyote or deer during the day as there is almost no trees or brush until you reach the Pinnacles itself. Roads in the park itself are well maintained as well as the highways leading up to it.

Great campground and great National Park. The campsites in Loop C are very nice, with shade and privacy. We had a bunch of raccoons and a fox coming to say hello in the evening, deer, squirrels and birds during the day; so be mindful of keeping your food locked at all time, they were all pretty bold (and cute). The High Peaks trail is a highlight, bring some binoculars to look at the condors.

Great site, bikable campground, easy to navigate, clean bathrooms with running water, great store with yummy treats and good souvenirs, firewood for purchase, pool was fun and refreshing (chillynot heated), family friendly hikes with a shuttle in the weekends, gorgeous scenery. Well definitely be back!

We enjoyed a fabulous spring weekend at Pinnacles National Park. The campground was nice and we enjoyed a very shady site #61. On day one, we hiked Old Pinnacles Trail to the Balconies Caves as the parking at Bear Gulch trail was full. It was mostly flat (till the end), with shade, sun and great views. On day two we got up early and arrived at the Bear Gulch Trailhead by 8:00am and got a parking spot. From there, we hiked through the cave, up through the upper section to the reservoir. We had the reservoir to ourselves for a nice (but short) period of time! If your planning a trip from outside the park, plan to arrive early. The lines got very long as the day went on just to enter the park. They do run a shuttle from the camp store to Bear Gulch on the weekends. The store can get busy and the showers where free. We will be back!

The closest bathroom was out of order. That meant an extremely long walk up hill the whole way, on very cold mornings. The last day, when we decided to stop there to empty the trash, we discovered that it was open. It would have been appropriate to notify the guests close to the bathrooms that it had finally opened. Otherwise I enjoyed the campsites very much.

Campers screaming and fighting across from us. Breaking bottles and slamming doors. Raccoons were charging my dog and these suckers were fearless and the size of a bear cub. My dog is 120lb malamute and he feared his life haha I had to hide him on the tent fearing his poor little life. Campsites were clean staff super friendly but probably one of the most stressfulTrips Ive had and I camp alot lol bathrooms were also very clean. Honestly couldnt help who we camped near and the Tacoma its surely their territory and no we had no good out these raccoons were just relentless.

Great time to visit. Campgrounds under 50% full and low traffic on the trails, although an early start was still necessary to avoid afternoon heat. C-loop includes some of the best sites.

Very pleasantly surprised with this campground. The park is small, but the campground would be perfect for a longer stay, just to get away.
