The best yet. This quiet, uncrowded site was perfect. Great facilities, friendly staff and nice stores. It was a joy to gaze at the Milky Way and the odd shooting star.

This campground would be more accurately described as a camp lot, since most if it is dirt and few spots have trees. Site 100 D had shade in the evening, but not in the morning. The temperature in June was quite hot by 11 am. The electricity worked well, but it was unclear to us which water spigots in the campground were ok to drink from. We were told a spigot 50 yards from our site was ok to use, but given no instructions on the one at our site. The showers and bathrooms were working and appreciated, but were far from the campsite.

We were very disappointed that the swimming pool was closed while we camped there June 8-10. There was no advance notice that the pool was closed during this very hot weather. We would have gone elsewhere had we known. Otherwise, campsites were nice and the hike up to the reservoir through the rock formations and caves was fantastic! Just very hottemperatures.

had a nice visit for 3 days. sites were clean, campground quiet. My only concern was the wifi does not work at the sites. I was in site 100 and there is a wife pole next to the site and we could not log in and the router doesn't even come up as an option...... WIFI is important as a lot of us work on the road when we travel.

We stayed in an RV and appreciated the available electrical hookup. The site itself was flat and roomy. The campground has a lot of non-hookup sites for tents and maybe small RVs and many of these looked pretty nice. The free shuttle bus from the campground store to the trailheads was very helpful due to the limited parking at the trailheads. Campground staff was friendly and helpful. The campground store was small, but offered plenty of basics and many convenience items, which is good because the next closest store is 25 miles away.

The campground was clean, the sites RV sites were well marked and it was quiet. A great base for hiking in the Pinnacles! The staff in the store were always polite and courteous.

The reason we keep coming back year after year to this astounding National Park is because it is one of the most beautiful and best run in the nation. Thank you thank you thank you!

The trails were fantastic. I loved the trail accessibility from the campground. The bathroom facilities are not adequate to support the number of campsites and/or campers. Many sites are so far from the few bathrooms that it is necessary to drive to the bathroom. On the weekend, the bathrooms were disgusting and showering required a wait. There is clearly space to build additional facilities and/or upgrade existing ones.

This campground is in a beautiful setting with easy access to the hiking trails. We enjoyed our stay at the campground and only gave it the 3 starts because of the water situation. Know that they don't have a water station to fill up your RV but have water spread out around the campground. We were told to fill up at a water spigot near someone's campsite when there was one within 5 feet of our campsite. (The person checking us in did not understand this.)

CG was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Didnt realize that water was not at each site so had to fill fresh water tank. Not a problem. I spoke with staff a day before our checkout to request a late checkout. They reviewed my site and found that there was no reservation for the site on the day we were exiting. They allowed me a late checkout. Very much appropriated. Amazing views of the Condors flying above the ridge and we could observe from our site. What a bonus! Hiking was great and we saw Condors too. Beautiful place in the fall.

The store hours were not accomodating for campers. Could not pump out early or late because there was no one at the store to get the key. We reservered site 100 for 7 nights and then we had to leave 1 day early. We were told that we would get a refund by 1 employee and when I got there to pump out so we could leave early the next morning the employee at that time said there would be no refund. Ok we went back to our site for that night. Well later that night a camper came in the grounds and said he had booked our site. I told him that this is still our site for that night and also the next night. I told him he could have our site for the last night because we will be leaving in the morning. The site is payed for and there should be a no charge? It looks to me that the camp ground so double dipping? Whats up with that? Not a way to do bussiness. Not happy with what you try to pull.

Had an awesome time here at Pinnacles campground. Stayed in site 100. Great trails and spectacular scenery. Both caves were fully open and was an awesome experience. Only a couple of negative things I can say is paying for a seven day pass at $30 was a surprise when leaving the park. You need to read the fine print about fees here. Also a disappointment was the dump facilities. Every person needing to dump had to go inside and leave your id to get the only key to open the lock at the dump station, then return to the store to get your id back. When we were leaving we needed to dump, the turnaround they have is not for rvers to turn around, but its for the parks shuttle to turn around. So at this time you are forced to park on the roadway and the park service was directing traffic to the day use area as the other parking lots were already full. In short its a narrow two lane road with rvers needing to dump, you have traffic going both directions and a shuttle bus parked on the roadway. THE PARK SERVICE NEEDS TO DO SOME MAJOR RECONFIGURING OF THE SERVICES AT THIS SPOT.

I liked the park and the access to an easy trail, which led to choices for tougher hikes. Electrical hookups were a plus and our site was nice, as at least on one side of us there was a creek (not much water in it) and brush. There is not a lot of space or any barrier between most sites, and the campground seemed full, so there wasn't much solitude/privacy and since we were right across from a very large teen group of some kind, there was a lot of activity and noise as well. So it was not the best place for a peaceful stay, but the scenery is superb and we saw wildlife, including the coon who visited our camp after dark. People followed the rules though and it was quiet at night and no one used generators. Hot showers were available nearby. We had a good stay.

Great campground - no separation between sites in the RV area but spacious enough. No generators allowed, which was great for the quiet. The showers were being rebuilt with no estimate of when they would be finished. For $55 nightly fee there should have been a discount for that. Pinnacles is one of the most incredible parks anywhere - from the cave hike going up several levels with a waterfall that cascades beside the trail, it is an unique experience. There are now several condors in the park. We hiked up to the crest at sunrise and found a condor waiting for the updrafts - so about an hour wait until the condor launched into the air. Great trails and views - this time of year the green moss covering the massive rocks in the canyon are vivid. It's a great place to visit. Many folk brought bikes because the campground and surrounding landscape is flat, so easy biking.
rv camp site was up front and clear on all services provided. Electric only , there is an on site dump station and multi water stations to fill your rv fresh water tank if needed. I just filled my water tank at home so I didn't have to worry about filling it there. I'm 1.5 hours away so carrying the extra weight didn't concern me . If I had a longer travel time then I would deal with the trouble of filling my tank there to save on fuel and wear and tear with the added road travel weight of fresh water. There was around 30 + feet spacing from the next rvs to me 360 degrees around. I been in some rv parks with only 15 feet of separation... I'm not comparing pinnacles to other places. I enjoy and appreciate what pinnacles is and what it has to offer. Roger

The campground and park was very nice! I hope to go back again! My one huge complaint is that they don’t allow dogs on ANY trails. While I understand the reasons for this, our dogs are our family and not being able to include them detracts from the experience.

Campground has limited shade in RV area but our campsite (100) had late morning through afternoon shade and had water tap right by it. Main down side is that the dump station is only open when store is open (9:30 to approx 5 pm I believe) No flushing of tanks allowed due to limited septic tank space per sign. Unfortunately we were unable to dump before we left around 9 am.
There are lots of fairly short and doable day hikes here under 6 miles. It's a great spot to spend a few days, just make sure you plan to get out early and be done with your hiking by around noon during the summer. After that either hang out at the swimming pool or somewhere with air conditioning for the hotter parts of the day. The caves and condors were the two major highlights for us.
Our campsite was awesome. We got lucky that it was available last minute. The water spigot was next to our campsite so it was easy to get refills for our rv. Not that we needed it. Trails were very manicured but HOT. Bring plenty of water. We went on the bench trail and there was a lot see if your an adult. Kids not so much as the caves were closed. They offer WiFi that is $10 or $7 depending on who you speak to. The dump station was broken so we had to drive to gilroy to dump our rv. Very inconvenient as we didn’t find out till last minute. If you don’t want to pay for WiFi just expect no cell service at all which we enjoyed both ways. It was nice to hang out with family. Be prepared for hot weather during the hike.
