I have been to the pinnacles many times over the years and enjoyed the previous visits. This one was different as there were very few park Rangers, nobody in the entrance booth either when I arrived nor when I left. This could open it up for thieves or other suspicious characters to enter the park and pray on campers. Once again, another failure of the current administration not to fund National parks, which are historically non-partisan. There was a bathroom on the high peaks that is usually serviced by park employees but that was not happening due to budget cutbacks. Some volunteer had written a hand note saying that they were gonna take care of it in the meantime. Yet another failure of this current administration.

Stayed at site 66. Theres good shade and a good lookout to see Candors soaring above. Only minus it that its quite a walk to real bathrooms, but close to the port-a-potties, which are not terrible.

The site was perfect (66C) for looking up to see condors and turkey vultures later in the day. It also provided enough privacy from neighboring sites which were full during my visit. Don't miss out on the caves if they are open. For all the days I was there, I was the first one at any trailhead starting ~7 AM. Areas got a lot more busy and it was hard to find parking when I hiked out in the afternoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pinnacles! We stayed in Site 66 where we tent camped and would recommend the site to anyone who asked. The Camp Store had everything we forgot and you just cant beat camping in a National Park. We look forward to coming back!

Beautiful place to camp. Be aware of very aggressive wildlife including scrub jays that will dive bomb you while you eat and raccoons that may try to get into your tent or car. The Old Pinnacles Trail to Balconies Cave offers breathtaking sights and is not too strenuous of a hike.

Big improvement over visiting there a couple years ago especially because you had to use quarters for the showers (big hassle & annoying!) and some only had cold water. Now they were free and included soap & shampoo. On the downside, some of the caves were still closed off to the public for some reason. Last time all the caves were closed due to COVID restrictions.

LOTS of mosquitos and flies. All of the regular plumbing is out but there are port-a-johns everywhere. I could not find the showers.

I love Pinnacles National Park and camping and hiking here, I think this is my fourth or fifth time camping. I had originally booked site 69 in the C loop but it was VERY small. I was there on a Monday in January so it wasn't an issue switching sites at the camp store (there is a fee). I stayed at site 66 and it was nice and level, good size, fairly private, and close but not too close to the toilets - the bathrooms in the C loop are under construction so they have port-a-potties. Some of the sites in the C loop still had a bunch of mud and water from the January rains but mine was dry. Staff at the store were helpful and nice. Watch for California condors towards dusk - they're usually circling way above the campground with a couple of turkey vultures. For hiking, I did Condor Gulch to Blue Oak to Bench to Sycamore trails. I have done High Peaks to Condor Gulch a couple of times, and also a nice big loop on High Peaks to Juniper Canyon to Balconies to Old Pinnacles to Bench to Sycamore. Next time I think I'll try out the wilderness area trails. The trails can definitely be difficult in areas and it can not be emphasized enough to bring a lot of water - even in the winter.

A park ranger guy was super nice, and the visitor center staff was also lovely. However, our campsite C66 was a raccoon's nest... Before midnight there were more than 5 raccoons around us, even though we never give them food. Also, they touch and look inside our tent and tried to enter. We changed our minds to stay inside the car, but while we moved our sleeping bags from tent to car, one of the raccoons climb into my car...he got off very quickly, but it was so scary. I loved pinnacles campground itself, but I don't recommend C66 lol

This is a beautiful area. Beware of the raccoons in the campground. They can be very aggressive. Also make sure you know what poison oak looks like, because it is quite common here. Lastly, if your food storage locker is in a location that might get sun, it will get very hot!

Camp store closes at 5 so if you get in after you wont be able to buy wood. The campsites varied to totally out in the open to pretty private, they also varied in size a bit. They seem to not want to fix some of the restrooms and just put porta-potties out. There is a pool but we were there the week before it opened. They have showers that are nice, warm water and FREE!!!! Over all a really good experience but definitely a few things to know before hand!

Great time to go beginning of November. Chilly, but not too cold. Remember, camping doesn't include car fee! $35 per vehicle. The pass is good for 7 days. Good hikes, clean restrooms, no hassle.

We did not fit in our spot. It was labeled as a 45 foot trailer spot but the road was to overgrown and we could not get in our site. There was no help from the campground personnel to remedy this situation so we had to leave. There was no refund.
