The park was a great time and you have lots of wildlife roaming the camping spaces. Really enjoyed it and we will be going back!!

Stayed at Site 35 and it was nice and flat with shade later in the day. The raccoons were another story as they were aggressive and will come up close and will take a lot to shoo them away. The back of the campground is close to a creek. There were deer there and you can see the Vultures flying up above. The night sky and stars along with the Milky way were visible at night.

Light in men's room didn't work. No washing station for dishes. Prices for firewood were so extreme (about $20 for a small bundle) they encourage campers to bring outside wood in to burn which can spread bark beetles and other devastating problems for the local habitat. The park itself was very nice, but the campground experience left a bad taste in my mouth.High prices, low quality and run by people who obviously care more about money than the environment.

This location was perfect for my wife and I to get away. It's was tucked in a little corner of the campsite with a small stream near by. Although it was the first week of January, the weather was not as cold as I thought it would be, but it was still very cold at night. Be aware that there are many raccoons that come out at night. If you store your food properly in the containers it should help, but they still come by. It's recommended to scare them away so they don't get used to people, although it seems like they are comfortable. Once it gone dark enough, one of the raccoons snuck up to us about a foot away. After shooing the raccoons away after a while they stopped coming by. It was kinda fun, pitch black, with a flashlight and fire, keeping them away. At night, with the flashlight, we could see a deer resting near the stream of water. It felt peaceful watching it rest. Eventually we snugged into our tent with the sound of the stream in the near distance. The camp store was not too far from the campsite and the staff were very friendly. They have a microwave in the store that you can use if you need it. Great trip and great location!

The most expensive campground in the NPS. This Campground was the worst NPS campground I've visited and the second worst Federal campground. It's MORE than double the cost of other NPS campgrounds, but there's fewer amenities and no privacy. This Campground doesn't have showers or dump for campers use - they lock them up. They barely have toilets - random porta-poties spread about. The noise at this Campground was something I've never experienced. It sounded like a stadium of hundreds of children SCREAMING until after 830pm. I am not sure if they have a schools sports team field connected to the campground, but if i had music playing as loud as those kids I would have been kicked out of the Campground. Surely they should be required to notify campers if they're holding an event like that. It was the most miserable camping experience of any of the national parks and was more than double the cost - go figure. If this is your first national park i suggest checking out the BLM areas nearby to camp for free or the state parks that are less than an hour away for 10 bucks. You can visit the entire park and stay at a decent facility for a decent price not far away. Please help contact the NPS about this facilities operations. Something is definitely off when it's the only NPS camp operating this way.

We love the Pinnacles and the Pinnacles camp ground. Our favorite site is 35. It is relatively private, close to the water, and not too far from the bathroom. The bear box is in full sun all day, so that is not perfect, but otherwise we loved our getaway.

This is a nice campground. Flush toilets, running water faucets with SOAP (less common than you would think), bottle fillers, and hot showers with shampoo, etc. The facilities were clean and functional. The site I had, number 35, was quite private and scenic. Thick brush on both sides, with rear exposure to a creek/drainage area. Afternoon shade. I could hear the occupants of the site next to me (barking dog), but I could never see them. The sounds of birds were the majority of what I heard during my stay, however. I can only think of a couple downsides to the site I had. The first was that there were a few mosquitoes (I was there in February following some rains) - not sure if they are regular inhabitants or not. It was cool, wet, and shaded due to the trees, the weather, and the creek. Maybe other sites wouldnt have any mosquitoes. But they were not bad compared to many other places Ive been. Only the most minor of nuisances. The other downside, which didnt affect me, is that the parking for my site was small. You couldnt fit a trailer or an RV here - only a pickup camper, van, tent, etc. I had a pickup camper so I was fine.Overall, an excellent campground. It was neat to wake up to the sounds of wild turkeys, since I dont live where they do. Lots of wildlife!

Lovely, secluded campsites, great store. Lovely quiet park.

It is sizable, level, and surrounded by woods, providing a private setting. The hot water shower is a bonus.

Good campground with paved road and parking spots, picnic tables, fire rings and small food locker at each site. Free showers and soaps, clean facilities. Sites pretty close to each other but not uncomfortably so. Hard packed dirt made it a bit of work to drive tent stakes in. Poison oak overflowing into camp sites, need to be careful and avoidant. Even though restrooms were well maintained and roomy lack of space in the stalls made for a bad restroom experience. Every stall in the park that wasnt handicap only had about a foot of standing room in front of the toilet. Made it very hard to even use. Awkward to pull pants down, wipe, get paper (also very thin paper; had to use a lot since most tugs would rip it). It was pretty nice to not have the restroom lights on all night though for Milky Way viewing; probably the reason there werent bugs in the bathroom too.

Had a great weekend here. This site was nice and private (even though I had noisy neighbors both nights). Free showers were available by the store, and firewood was available for purchase as well. I'd come stay again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Pinnacles Campground. It was winter. and the campground was only about 25% full on a weekend, with a variety of campers. The store employees were helpful, as was the NPS staff. The sites were very clean, and they were just as described in the website/app. Some of the sites were in sunny locations and some were very shaded. our site 35, was very shaded and we could not see our neighbors. Some of the sites were very open. Our site may be difficult to maneuver into with our 30-foot bumper pull trailer, but with good driving skills it was doable. The weather was cold, with a low of 25 degrees and high of 50 degrees. This area can be very warm in the summer, reaching into the 100s. Overall, we would visit this site again. This was our second time at this campground. One tidbit of info that we were not aware of before is that generators are not allowed at anytime. This is not listed anywhere, except as you drive into the campsites area.

Its a well maintained campground. There are lots of raccoons around. Pay attention to food and trash storage. They are very bold!

The campground has some nice shaded campsites with decent spacing. The camp store and pool make for a really nice experience for the kids. In mid-April it was pretty cold, but with a hot day worked out fine. The campground is close to fun hikes and really made for a great overall experience. Our kids made friends with some of the other campers and had a great time.

Good hiking trails, and a haven for California Condors and acorn woodpeckers.

Great park! Many hikes, do the condor to high peak (moderately strenuous) to see condors and do the CCC jack-hammered stairs in rock! Get terrific info from the rangers, they are super helpful!!! Nice campsites, the loop furthest from the store is super quiet and pretty. Loved those showers and waking up to wild turkey alarm clock.

Good idea to eat before dark as the raccoons are not shy about invading camp. Also the locals all keep their hoods up when parked for a while apparently because the rodents will make home in your engine compartment if its too cozy and dark. Keep your camp area perfectly clean! Both sets of caves are great experiences.Best to be there mid-week as the place is insanely crowded on weekends and you have to take the shuttle to get any cool trailheads.
@AdamB361 · Camped on Jan 17, 2022 at Campsite #35
Definitely show up during the week. limited parking during the weekends. Loved our stay and will be back in the future to try out all the other trails we missed out on.

Great hiking and views. Loved our campsite (but not all are that good). Friendly and helpful staff. Only caveat is not enough parking spaces at the main trail heads.
