Great site. Can't see the neighboring sites. Close walk to the restrooms and dumpster

Light in men's room didn't work. No washing station for dishes. Prices for firewood were so extreme (about $20 for a small bundle) they encourage campers to bring outside wood in to burn which can spread bark beetles and other devastating problems for the local habitat. The park itself was very nice, but the campground experience left a bad taste in my mouth.High prices, low quality and run by people who obviously care more about money than the environment.

This location was perfect for my wife and I to get away. It's was tucked in a little corner of the campsite with a small stream near by. Although it was the first week of January, the weather was not as cold as I thought it would be, but it was still very cold at night. Be aware that there are many raccoons that come out at night. If you store your food properly in the containers it should help, but they still come by. It's recommended to scare them away so they don't get used to people, although it seems like they are comfortable. Once it gone dark enough, one of the raccoons snuck up to us about a foot away. After shooing the raccoons away after a while they stopped coming by. It was kinda fun, pitch black, with a flashlight and fire, keeping them away. At night, with the flashlight, we could see a deer resting near the stream of water. It felt peaceful watching it rest. Eventually we snugged into our tent with the sound of the stream in the near distance. The camp store was not too far from the campsite and the staff were very friendly. They have a microwave in the store that you can use if you need it. Great trip and great location!

Nice park with good facilities and not too crowded.

The most expensive campground in the NPS. This Campground was the worst NPS campground I've visited and the second worst Federal campground. It's MORE than double the cost of other NPS campgrounds, but there's fewer amenities and no privacy. This Campground doesn't have showers or dump for campers use - they lock them up. They barely have toilets - random porta-poties spread about. The noise at this Campground was something I've never experienced. It sounded like a stadium of hundreds of children SCREAMING until after 830pm. I am not sure if they have a schools sports team field connected to the campground, but if i had music playing as loud as those kids I would have been kicked out of the Campground. Surely they should be required to notify campers if they're holding an event like that. It was the most miserable camping experience of any of the national parks and was more than double the cost - go figure. If this is your first national park i suggest checking out the BLM areas nearby to camp for free or the state parks that are less than an hour away for 10 bucks. You can visit the entire park and stay at a decent facility for a decent price not far away. Please help contact the NPS about this facilities operations. Something is definitely off when it's the only NPS camp operating this way.

We love the Pinnacles and the Pinnacles camp ground. Our favorite site is 35. It is relatively private, close to the water, and not too far from the bathroom. The bear box is in full sun all day, so that is not perfect, but otherwise we loved our getaway.

Great campsite with shade and sun. Quiet neighbors with lots of space between us.

This is a nice campground. Flush toilets, running water faucets with SOAP (less common than you would think), bottle fillers, and hot showers with shampoo, etc. The facilities were clean and functional. The site I had, number 35, was quite private and scenic. Thick brush on both sides, with rear exposure to a creek/drainage area. Afternoon shade. I could hear the occupants of the site next to me (barking dog), but I could never see them. The sounds of birds were the majority of what I heard during my stay, however. I can only think of a couple downsides to the site I had. The first was that there were a few mosquitoes (I was there in February following some rains) - not sure if they are regular inhabitants or not. It was cool, wet, and shaded due to the trees, the weather, and the creek. Maybe other sites wouldnt have any mosquitoes. But they were not bad compared to many other places Ive been. Only the most minor of nuisances. The other downside, which didnt affect me, is that the parking for my site was small. You couldnt fit a trailer or an RV here - only a pickup camper, van, tent, etc. I had a pickup camper so I was fine.Overall, an excellent campground. It was neat to wake up to the sounds of wild turkeys, since I dont live where they do. Lots of wildlife!

Lovely, secluded campsites, great store. Lovely quiet park.

It is sizable, level, and surrounded by woods, providing a private setting. The hot water shower is a bonus.

Good campground with paved road and parking spots, picnic tables, fire rings and small food locker at each site. Free showers and soaps, clean facilities. Sites pretty close to each other but not uncomfortably so. Hard packed dirt made it a bit of work to drive tent stakes in. Poison oak overflowing into camp sites, need to be careful and avoidant. Even though restrooms were well maintained and roomy lack of space in the stalls made for a bad restroom experience. Every stall in the park that wasnt handicap only had about a foot of standing room in front of the toilet. Made it very hard to even use. Awkward to pull pants down, wipe, get paper (also very thin paper; had to use a lot since most tugs would rip it). It was pretty nice to not have the restroom lights on all night though for Milky Way viewing; probably the reason there werent bugs in the bathroom too.

Definitely show up during the week. limited parking during the weekends. Loved our stay and will be back in the future to try out all the other trails we missed out on.

Great hiking and views. Loved our campsite (but not all are that good). Friendly and helpful staff. Only caveat is not enough parking spaces at the main trail heads.

Great campsite, great spot. Clean, shade and not overlooked. Bathrooms kept very clean and tidy

There is very little way this campground is worth the money. I'm not actually sure what would make it worth it. Its a perfectly fine campground, but completely mediocre given that you pay over $40 and its the most basic I could've asked for from a campsite, and it didn't even have the shade that it boasted online. Be VERY particular about which site you get here.... they are very different and it's hard to tell from online pictures and reviews. We tried to move to the next site over which was completely shaded, as our site said ours should be (1-6pm NOT SHADED IN 105 degree WEATHER), but they wouldn't let us because the site "only allowed one vehicle" despite two mid size SUVs fitting just fine. We ended up just using this site for the day until ours finally got shaded (close to 7pm), and no one showed up in the 4 sites around us, despite every single one of them being "booked."

Didn't use the showers, or even toilets because they were so far away, but that would be nice. The pool area looked okay, but you can't even bring your dog inside of the gates/on the grass (nor leave them alone at your site, in your car, etc.), so I wasn't able to enjoy the pool at all as a solo traveler looking for a break at a "nice" campground. Would literally never stay again. Go down the road 30 mins to Hollister Hills area for $10/night sites and everything you'd want from this site, at a fraction of the price.

Pinnacles is a magical place of stone towers, majestic birds and a variety of trails. The infrastructure for the most part is sorely outdated and in need of renovation. Bathrooms were marginally functioning and showers, all 4 of them, much the same. Not up to snuff for National Park status in my opinion, but I guess the name comes first and then eventually some funding will flow their way. Still, it is a wonderful property available to all.

Next place for stargazing. So many stars!

Our family greatly enjoyed our 2 night trip to Pinnacles in March. We had a very private site well screened from neighboring sites with the added benefit of the following stream nearby. There were lots of birds about and on both nights we saw a pair of condors from our picnic table while eating dinner. Perfect!

Wonderful camping experience. Wish the caves were open though. But we understand the abundance of caution.

Pinnacles is a wonderful place and I like the off the grid feel. But be aware there is no cell service and no electrical outlets in any bathroom or elsewhere. The only electricity is 30 amps in the RV spaces. It would be great if there could be a couple of electrical outlets available to the public for quick uses like plugging in a coffee grinder, etc.

Nice campsite, our spot had plenty of privacy and was next to a little creek (very low at the time we went). It gets plenty cold in February so bring plenty of layers and blankets. We were not allowed to collect firewood from the surrounding area, so the only option for firewood was to buy some from the camp store (luckily I brought my own kindling). Also beware raccoons after dark, they will come after your food without fear.

Not the fault of the campground, but we had several neighbors who were being very loud until 1 or 2 a.m. I politely asked one group to quiet down, but there were still several more that could be heard from across the creek. What can you do.
