I had a lovely site at the very back of the campground, far away from the noise and bustle. It was a bit of a trek to the bathroom, but otherwise wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The general store has great merchandise, both for camping and souvenirs. Oh, and FREE HOT SHOWERS in the campground! That was a much-appreciated perk after sweating my brains out under the hot sun on the trial all day!

We spent a night and a beautiful day here, admiring the peaks and the condors. Great night sky, good showers.

We were able to book an extra night last minute at our camping site. The staff was very helpful and friendly. All facilities were clean and well kept.

Visited Pinnacles in late October. Campground was not full and was able to reserve a campsite with good privacy. Water was nearby. There was a walk to the restrooms which were clean outhouses in my section of the campground

Nice place but would be way better March -May. October was super hot and dry and brown. Will definitely come back in wetter months to see green and water running. Caves were fantastic though and in great shape.

The campground over all was great. The pool was a huge perk because it was so hot. However, I was tent camping in site 77 and there was no shade at my site. 78 also had no shade. I spent a lot of my time in the picnic / overflow parking area because it was too sunny at my site.

While we thoroughly enjoyed hiking and staying at the park, the trip was marred by the resurfacing project throughout the park. You should have shut the park down for the few days involved.

Regarding the campground: the bathrooms were port-a-potties with non-potable handwashing stations, which is fine, except that they were over 10min walk from our campsite. If the toilets are going to be so bare bones, why not space them out so it's not such a huge trek? The store closes at 5p and there are no after-hours firewood areas, and firewood was $16 which is pretty expensive considering the lack of tinder and the logs were quite big, for that price I'd like more processed firewood. Finally, our campsite and our neighbor's had ZERO shade and were flooded and muddy from lack of proper drainage, there's literally a creek running through the campsite so water just pools in some areas and eventually flows into a nearby marsh. It would be nice to have campground staff maintain the sites between use - or simply close down the sites if they're constantly flooded? Felt like a ripoff to have to camp in a tent in the mud while our RV neighbors were parked in their very dry, very shady campsites... As an aside, Carlos, the camp store staff member, was extremely friendly, kind, and helpful, and an actual angel who helped us out!

Be aware that this campsite's pad is facing backwards, so you cannot back in to the site well at all. This is NOT a good site for a travel trailer, only a Class C, Class B or tent camping. Don't be fooled by the photo or the length of the site. You have been warned!

Beautiful park. Super hot May-September.
Not all sites have shade even if they “yes” on Recreation.gov.

Dry. Dusty. Amazing wildlife.
Swimming pool at camp but crazy cold.

If you can only do one hike; Recommend Bear Gulch. Trails not recommended for kids under 7 (steep, drop offs ….. I’m saying this as a mom.)

If you have hikers, can’t miss high peaks trails. Steep, hand rails, might cause vertigo but amazing …… we’ve been back three times. And condors soaring!

Caves closed due to Covid but amazing if they are open.

Pinnacles is so close but still feels like a get away. Great hiking during the day, quiet and tranquil at night.
