Campsites and area are very well kept and cared for. Staff was friendly and offered lots of park and hiking information. For non-rv hookup sites there is only one fill station so you need to fill before you park. Campsite was plenty big enough for our transit van and an additional car if needed. Lots of raccoons... be aware, and don't leave any food out!.

We had a wonderful time at Pinnacles. Our campsite was very nice and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the deer and bunnies go by. The hiking was good too. One day we hiked the Moses Spring to Rim Trail loop with a stop at the reservoir. Our other hike took us from Bear Gulch to High Peaks to Condor Gulch.

We loved Campsite 32!It had the perfect amount of shade and felt really private with all the trees and bushes around. We saw a bunch of animalsdeer with a fawn, jackrabbits, and more. Just a heads-up: watch out for raccoons and fire ants. Other than that, it was an awesome spot and wed totally come back again!

Ample shade on this site for most of the day. During the evening is when the sun is beaming down. Store your food properly as well as anything scented. The raccoons here will be visiting at night and scavenging for anything they can get their hands on they are smart enough to open your tent zippers.

The campsites, trails, and restrooms here are nice. During the evening, the motion sensor lights in the bathroom are set to go on for a short time, so expect the lights to turn off.One issue I have is with the wifi access available at the camp store. Verizon/Xfinity has no cellular signal at Pinnacles. The camp store area offers two wifi tiers. Free, which provides 30 minutes of use OR 50MB of data. I burned thru that in a few minutes when I got access as text messages came in with media attached and I did a facetime to let family know we arrived.The paid tier is about $7-8 for a few days of access OR 500MB. Well, I burned thru 50MB in a few minutes. 500MB isn't going to last that long. Whoever though up this data cap needs to rethink it. I would have been fine with paying, but would have liked the cap to be a few GB. I'm camping - I'm not going to be streaming videos. But I don't want access to just end when doing a few facetime calls.

The campground was only modestly populated at this time of year (early March), making it a relatively low-key environment. This campsite in particular is quite nice, with a large shaded area of more-or-less flat, leaf-carpeted ground for pitching tents. We got three tents to fit comfortably. All in all, a lovely overnight!
Some Coverage

Camped here early December and tested my 15 degree sleeping bag for the first time. Not sure how cold it got overnight but woke up to frost on the ground so probably somewhere in the 30s. There was a handful of other campers but everyone was nicely spaced out. Went and hiked around the caves the next day and highly recommend checking those out. Bring a headlamp and have fun, this was an another great national park experience. Thank you.

Kind staff, clean restrooms, and the hikes at Pinnacles are fantastic. Parking for the hikes is limited. Clean campsite. Bring your food - no restaurants near by. Pool was open - not heated so it was cold! Im sure it will warm up as the temperatures rise.

Pinnacles is beautiful, but the campsites are grossly overpriced when you figure it already cost $30 to get in the park it was over $80 for 1 night. I could get a decent motel for less.
Major Issues
@MattC3329284· Camped on Oct 3, 2023 at Campsite #32
Campsite 32B was a pretty good location, it wasn't exactly a flat spot, but nothing unusable for sleeping on. The trees provide shade over the campsite in the afternoon, which was great since it was in the mid 80s first week of October. Bathrooms are nearby across the sandy field, which made it convenient, bathrooms have running water and flush toilets, also had a water spigot outside. Only one campsite was next to this one, but some bushes helped separate the two sites. The other side of the campsite was a bunch of trees. Enough parking for 2 cars. Relatively close to the camp store, pool, and showers if you drive car, otherwise takes about 10 minutes to walk there from the campsite. The site has a storage container for food so the wildlife can't get it. Dumpsters are nearby as well.Mostly unobstructed views of the night sky which allowed me to do some night photography right from the campsite.And, surprisingly, I had cell service at the campsite, at least 3 bars, no issues with calls dropping or internet. I have ATT.

I have been to this c.g. many times, it has been 2 years. This site is no longer as shown, and needs attention in the brush area + fencing is ugly.There were many flies but thats camping. one of the early evenings the park ranger came around and was quite rude. Bathrooms are very nice.

We were in Site 32Clean bathroom. Wide open area near our site. It was close to the trash bins so a lot of people walked by the spot. Not a biggie but some might find it annoying.

Site is very wide- tent had to go right up against the road to find a flat spot. Note that the bugs were bad and it was hot! Wildlife everywhere!

What a beautiful park! The only disappointment was the nonstop rain, which prevented us from seeing the California Condors. Obviously, that is not the fault of the park! The campgrounds were relatively spacious for tents but our tent was pitched in a depression (the best place to put it) and when it rained, it was not a good combination. Otherwise, it was a fabulous park!

What a great campground and site! The campground is well maintained. The site was great. The site backs right up against a hill and has nice privacy on both sides. The one drawback is if people are leaving at night and have their headlights on they shine right into your tent. But that only happened once. The site had a good amount of shade so if you're looking for that in summer, this would be a good one.
@JulieT3381117· Camped on May 23, 2022 at Campsite #32
Beautiful location and close to major hiking areas. Unfortunately the bathroom near my campsite was closed for maintenance and there were Porta pottys instead. There were only two showers for the entire campground which did not seem like enough, there was always a line. This is not necessarily anyones fault but my campsite had no shade and it was very hot when I visited so I ended up cutting my stay a day short. I would probably stay here again but not during the summer.
@SarahH2673287· Camped on May 2, 2022 at Campsite #32
The campground is decent and well-maintained. The sites themselves vary widely in terms of privacy, flatness for tents, and shade, so do your research. Site 32 got shade all day except late afternoon and we had a parade of wildlife, which was fun.What ruined this trip for us was when we pulled over into the parking lot of a maintenance facilty to take a photo of a beautiful flower, a ranger gave us a $100 fine for parking in a "closed area". This was ridiculous! We weren't doing anything unsafe. We weren't illegally using park land. We weren't snooping around the facility or the staff housing. The car was occupied and running while I hopped out to snap a pic! Definitely ruined our day and soured us on this particular National Park.

32 is a nice, spacious site with a mix of shade and sun. Lots of birds and squirrels to watch. Figuring out how to back a trailer into it was a little confusing; you can't back in from when you first see the site, you need to go all the way around the loop in the back of the campground and back into the site from that direction. Not much poison oak at the site, but watch out for an absolute jungle of it on the little trail to the amphitheater and camp store. (The camp store sells little individual-use packs of tecnu, and you should get some to take hiking!) The bathrooms were under construction and were replaced with portapotties, which were surprisingly not as gross as portapotties usually are.

The Pinnacles Campground is a perfect place to experience nature. When you wake up in the morning you are serenaded by turkeys, quail, a variety of birds, and greeted by deer and rabbits. At night after viewing the stars, you go to sleep to the night sounds of coyotes, owls, and other animals. The showers were recently remodeled so you can have a hot shower in a clean restroom and dont have to feed quarters into a machine. The showers are free!The Catholic Church Immaculate Conception on the way to the Pinnacles has a number of memorials, and Stations of the Cross outside that have an interesting history to them.
Bathrooms clean and tidy, but disappointed showers were not working.
Excellent trail system, well maintained
