The tent cabin was great. One double bed and two twins. Very comfortable. There are solar lights built in so dont be afraid of the no electricity. Highly recommend staying here

The tent cabins were extremely clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were easily accessible and also clean. The park is stunningly gorgeous. Will be going back.

Some sites are very nice with shade and privacy. Others are crammed right next to each other. Great amenities. Bathroom doors slam which is annoying in the evening when going to sleep as you can hear slamming doors across the campground. Overall great experience.

It's a very nice cabin with newish floors, ample porch, windows/screens, 2 adirondack chairs, a bench, a solar-powered fan and two solar powered lights. Lots of interior room as we had a large luggage. Across an empty meadow field from the restroom. The picnic bench was clean and the fire pit had all its parts. The one negative is the cabin is completely not insulated so it was probably 80 inside when we arrived at 3pm, and dropped to 40 at night (bring warm sleeping bags!). The cabin backs into a steepish hillside and I saw people walking up the hill to gather wood but I don't think this is a reliable method. The floor gets very very cold. The sites at this campground are smallish as in you couldn't fit in an extra tent or trailer. The road passes right in front and there are constantly cars driving at night until 10pm, people looking for their sites but seemingly driving in circles. I read about raccoons but we saw no wildlife except quails and bats.

We stayed at pinnacles in one of their tent cabins at the end of March and it was a wonderful experience. The tent and the site had everything we could ask for, everything including the bathrooms were spotless, the camp store was well stocked and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back soon and cant wait to watch all of the amazing wildlife from our porch again.

The reservation process was very easy, and being off-season and a sunday night, I had no problems booking a tent cabin. I had most of the campsite to myself which was a wonderful surprise, so peaceful and quiet. The cabin had no heating which was a shame since it was 25 degrees overnight, but I was well prepared with lots of blankets, layers and sub zero sleeping bag! Some visitors to the campsite: bunnies, lots of deer, California Quail, ravens, and a pair of racoons at night... and 2 owls were hooting... Loved all the fauna:-) And the stars were incredible! The store has a good selection of basic supplies, and coffee in the morning (though not till 9am). The staff and Rangers were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable:-) One even helped me identify the 3 Condors I took photos of, they are all tagged and listed on the website! The hiking is unbeatable, though pretty strenuous. January might be a cold, wet time of year to visit Pinnacles, but the park was wonderfully empty and peaceful. I hiked early Monday morning and only passed one person after 1.5 hrs of hiking! HIGHLY recommend Pinnacles and especially the campsite.

Bathroom motion light did not work, bathroom was not clean (urinal overflowing), however it was fixed and saw team members cleaning often. Cabin tent is overpriced, but nice.

This was our second visit to this campground and were disappointed this year the shuttles were no longer available (with no prior notice given). Given the distance from the campground to the trailheads, and the prohibition on self-shuttling, hiking options (especially for families with young children) are quite limited.

I booked a tent cabin and the chemical smell of the cleaning agents was overpowering. It lessened over the days we were there but the first night I had an allergic reaction to the odor and it was difficult to sleep.

I was amazed at how well-equipped the camp store was. Coming from the Bay Area, I also found the prices to be reasonable. We stayed in the Tent Cabins, which had solar lights. During our stay, there was some wind during the day that shook the lines holding the cabin and made some noise, but it seemed to die down at night. I should have checked the weather more closely because the campground is tucked in the mountains and my site stayed shady well into the day, making for some cold mornings. Overall we had a great time!

It was a little unclear how to get the keys to the tent cabin we reserved. I received mixed instructions from rec.gov. But not too big of a deal. Also, it would be nice if the boxes intended for keeping animals out of food were big enough for a standard ice chest. Again, not a deal breaker. It's a wonderful park with great facilities and friendly staff all around.

Pinnacles was a gem! The park is gorgeous and seeing condors was truly amazing. The campground was great for our family, the tent cabin comfortably fit our family and was a luxurious park experience. The pool was also a nice addition!

We have stayed at the Pinnacles campground three times now. The campground is well maintained with easy access to water and bathrooms. We enjoyed exploring the east side of the park with the campground as a home base. It's pretty popular, so it is not a quiet place to camp (there were campers playing loud music until after 10p). But, overall I think it's worth it to explore the park.

We rented a tent cabin (#28) that was clean and comfortable. It sweltered in the heat without any shade nearby. Unfortunately, it was very close to the line of port-a-potties that were deployed to replace the restrooms in our loop that were closed for renovation. This created significant noise near our site. Other tent cabins were in close proximity and proved to be noisy as well. An RV pulled into a nearby tent site one night and ran a generator in the evening and AM. We found out later that generators are not allowed, but there was no one around to enforce this. This entire park was self-service. There was no presence of National Park personnel anywhere in evidence during our mid-week stay (concessionaires only at the store). The dumpsters, also near our site and another source of noise, were overflowing by the end of stay. This was much to the delight of our local raccoons and other scavengers. There is also a lot of car traffic by this site as it serves as the access for a lot of tent sites on a large loop. I would not choose this site again. The swimming pool was a pleasant surprise on a hot day. The hiking in this park was awesome. Seeing condors in the wild is stunning. There are good opportunities to see them next to turkey vultures and learn to differentiate them easily.

We booked the tent cabin in March. The tent cabins look new and are in great conditions. There's one queen bed and two twin beds. Very large. It has three windows and a storm lockable door. We booked a non electrical tent but it did have a solar battery box that has USB connections, provides power for lights and fan, able to provide radio. The room is very clean. Each site provides a picnic table, fire pit and a food locker. There's two outdoor chairs and a bench. You'll need to bring your own bedding and for March evenings, bring ALOT of comforters and blankets. Evenings can get down to the 20's.Visitor center opens at 9am. Camp Store opens from 9:30am to 4pm - provides some food items (ie snacks), drinks, ice cream. There's some camping essentials. You can buy wood. The pool wasn't open (I think it opens in April). There's only one shower building which is near the camp store.Shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes on weekends. It stops only at the Bear Gulch Nature Center. But I think if you ask the driver, s/he may be willing to stop at the Old Pinnacles Parking Lot.Some of the bathroom buildings were being fixed or renovated. One day the bathrooms near us was working but then the next they closed it for repairs and had portable bathrooms up (they had a sink to wash hands). Bring flashlight/headlamp to the bathroom, sometimes the light doesn't turn on.There are lots of wildlife running around - turkey, coyotes, deer, quails, raccoons. So abide the locking up your food rule! Some evenings were pretty loud and some evenings were quiet. Quiet hours from 10pm-6am.The evening sky was definitely beautiful!

Exceptional day-hiking destination. Beautiful rock spires, caves, wildflowers in the Spring, and condors. Provided you are not afraid of heights, don't miss the "steep and narrow" section of High Peaks Trail, which includes near-vertical climbs using footholds chiseled into the rock. Or, enjoy a quieter day at the scenic reservoir or in shady Bear Gulch. If you decide to explore the rocky high country, do not underestimate the harshness of Pinnacles' climate. Heat stress is a real threat, and Summers often include medi-evacs of ill-prepared visitors. In cooler months, camping is only for the brave: campground temperatures drop into the 20's even in March. But with a little preparation, Pinnacles is a benign and lovely place. Visit June through January to avoid the crowds. It takes more than one day to hike both High Peaks Trail and Balconies. So, camp for two nights if you can. And if you are a climber, you might want longer; Pinnacles is renowned as a bouldering destination, with many climbing spots indicated by named side-trails.
