The tent cabin was convenient...not having to pack tent, set it it and take it down. But way too pricy for what it is. The pool and showers at the campground store were nice amenities especially after a long hike in the heat.

Hiking is great here. Some trails listed as easy should really be listed as moderate to strenuous. Ask around before you go. If its cold doubtful to see Condors. The actual campground could use more showers and more hot water. It would be great if someone would please install some hooks in the ladies restrooms in the campgrounds so when we go to wash faces/ brush teeth/ clean up children, etc, we dont have to juggle holding stuff as one cannot use the floor.

The campground was run by a private company, and they do a great job! It was actually much better maintained then most National Park and State Park campgrounds. The tent cabin was clean, easy to use, and a perfect fit for us. Fire pits were well maintained, and overall it was a great camping experience. The park side of things, however, was poorly run and 'egocentric'. They get a lot of weekend traffic, so they closed the main road to Bear Gulch by 9 am both days. The rangers were rude and dismissive, and the shuttle runs once an hour, leading to a 1-2 hour wait. Even campers must wait in a long car line at the entrance, for several hours before getting to their campsite. The rangers act like it's the fault of the visitor, instead of their own poor communication and planning. We got in early one morning to get a parking spot, and noticed the lot was 1/2 empty when we were leaving, but this didn't change the road closure. They say it's closed because there's no parking, but that wasn't the actual case, meaning people were needlessly sitting in their cars for hours. Altogether, very poor performance by the park rangers running this operation.

1) First of all, check in was very easy.2) We had reserved a non-electric tent cabin and were surprised and pleased to learn that solar electric lights had been added. This really helped ease our first night. What we didn't realize was that by using all our solar bank the first night is that we had very little bank for the following night.3) I appreciate the free hot showers, but those shower stalls were tiny, tiny, tiny.

The tent cabin itself is nicely appointed with a full bed and two single beds. It has a bench and electricity. However this site was simply an oven and becomes unbearably hot in the afternoon. It is not clear why this location was selected for a tent cabin as there is not outside areas to lounge (you are right on the road). Since you cant be inside and there is no place outside, it is not very inviting. The picnic table and grill station was completely exposed to the sun. Suggest you bring canopies and umbrellas if you want to sit outside. A disappointment.

Was amazing to be able to see condors from our campsite. The tent cabins are fine, but not insulated at all which should be considered when choosing a reservation. With we could have stayed longer. Nice options for hikes and the caves were cool.

The woman handling check in was very pleasant and helpful, the store was well stocked! We stayed in one of the canvas tent cabins. It was very comfortable and we were prepared for the temperatures. We did have some noisy neighbors that went on past the quiet hours. The raccoons were more respectful than that group of campers. But the hikes were stunning! We definitely plan to return.

Campsites are clean and level. They are not too close to each other and the campground was very quiet despite being full with no empty spots. Nice bonus in that the firewood purchase at the store was delivered to your site after purchasing.
Bathroom was always clean

Stayed in a tent cabin, they are great. Cabin was clean with a lot of room. The non-electric cabins won’t keep you warm in the winter though. Campground was good with lots of wildlife. Only complaint was the food storage locker was a lot smaller than most campgrounds.

We opted for the bougie tent cabin- non electric and were pleasantly surprised that there were solar lights and a solar fan. Very comfortable and lovely campground with entertaining quail. It was a bummer the pool was closed since it was hot. Love that there are so many trails from the campground but was bummed that dogs were not allowed. Camping is dog friendly but activities by and large not so much. Hiked Condor Gulch and saw.... condors, which was awesome. Perfect . Definitely recommend but maybe 2 days and one night is enough, as the park is small. Well equipped camp store was also great and the kid loved walking over to get ice creams.
