While I loved the free, hot showers, the accessible size of the park (perfect for even a one-night stay!), the campground itself - site 4 in particular - is crowded up next to each other. I was next to site 5, and also crowded up against multiple canvas tents. This campground is likely a better fit for groups who dont mind being lined up together.

It was 112 degrees and the pool was closed without any notification. Had we known we would have canceled in time for a refund and rescheduled to a different date.

Site had no privacy or separation from road or neighboring campers.

Site #4 and #5 are side-by-side; the only separation was a log towards the back end of the sites. We stayed in late October, avoiding the crowds, so no issues with the lack of privacy. This site is close to the Visitor Center/Store, showers, pool, and telescopes (next to site #80). Behind the site is a gentle running stream, in front is an open field where we saw turkeys and bunnies. There were too many clouds at night but I imagine stargazing is amazing in the spring/summer when the skies are clear. My only issue was the ground was really hard from the lack of rain that our stakes kept bending when setting up our tents.

Dump station needs to be open for people to use when leaving camp, early. 9:30 is to late for people to get on the road for travel. Then it is really backed up or usage.

Amazing location seriously visit, it's better than you think. fantastic park staff. Helpful, friendly, knowledge.

Showers and rest rooms at camp site are in bad need of some tlc but the other restrooms are in better condition.

Not the most picturesque campground but was quiet and clean. The hiking in the higher elevations is spectacular. Hiking from the campground adds several additional miles to what can be an already strenuous hike. Plan to take a car from the campground to the upper trailhead parking lots.

The main challenge was the cold, especially in the morning. I had not tried to camp in March before this but with Covid it was the only way to see my friends. The campground was fine and now I know that I would try to get one of the more remote spots in future (we were in A3). The good thing about the time of year was that there was green and hiking in the day was pleasant - not too hot. I would go again whenever possible.

Awesome campground and even more awesome park. Such great landscape and cool caves! A little crowded but that’s to be expected in covid times.
