be aware that c loop only has portable toilets and faucets are spaced out. difficult to find such indications on the website map. loop a has free showers, which were very nice. wonderful condor sightings from campsite

Best location in the campground in my opinion. This site was spacious enough for my two-door hatchback and two-person tent, and the ground was reasonably level. The soil was too hard for my aluminum tent stakes, but they were not needed. There is little shade at midday and on a sunny April day it grew very warm.

Excellent springtime camping at Pinnacles! Lots of green, thanks to the recent rains. We saw so many birds (the condors were amazing!) and the frogs in the campsite creek sung us to sleep each night. Delightful!

Mid-week the last week of January was very uncrowded, and the weather was perfect! Hiking was cool throughout the day but very warm in the full sun.

Many sites in campground have good spacing and privacy. It's easy to see which sites are shady from the photos. Hiking trails are very well constructed and well maintained (poison oak growing alongside is kept cut back!). It's a long walk from the campground to some of the trail destinations, so it's great that there is a shuttle service for the busier seasons.

I've been coming to this park for approximately 35 years. It is amazing for hiking and camping! My only complaint is with the site I reserved; 69 on loop C. It is too small and has no real shade. I will not choose it in the future.

Wonderful campground and park. Excellent hiking opportunities. Caves and Condors!I wish the shuttles were running - it would ease the parking situation and lessen campground traffic.

Loved our stay at Pinnacles. The campground is clean and amenities are well cared for. We have a pretty basic set up (tent, no electric) and we found everything we needed. Only slight snafu was the box of wood we picked up from the camp store was dampit had been raining for days, so maybe it got left in a puddle at some point. That's the cost of camping in the rainy season though!

Campground was great, please don't ruin it. Pick up your trash it's easy. Keep your portable speakers at home no one is there to listen to you. And dude quiet ours are 10pm everyone just wants to chill.

The park has declined quite a bit from our previous visit in 2019. Our site (52c) was a giant puddle/mud pit which made it interesting to tent camp in. I would expect a little site maintenance for 50 dollars a night. Nothing seems to be maintained properly and it was overcrowded in the park and they closed the road multiple times so we were not able to drive to the trailhead, however offered no shuttles even though they have shuttles. For the cost of admission you would think there would be some kind of services provided.

One of our favorite places to go camping. Definitely make sure you get a spot with some shade, depending on the time of year it gets real hot. It is also one of our favorite places to go hiking. It’s like National Geographic out there.

Campsite 69 isn't that good (kinda small and awkward) but other than that everything was great

Our camping experience was very good. Hiking was amazing! Our camp site was private and cute but it was missing trees for clothes line and hammocks. We explored the camp and found that most campsites don’t have trees for hammocks and only a handful for hanging towels. Not a deal breaker but it’d be nice to hang towels somewhere. The only drawback are showers. Small, older stalls and cannot control water temperature. (Occasionally scorching hot water - not great for small kids since there is no space to step away). The main problem is that there are 2 stalls for men and only 1 working stall for women. For the entire camp. So go early and be prepared for a line.
It didn’t spoil our overall experience and looking forward to coming next season for more hiking.

We had a fun trip. We were trying out an RV for the first time and we camped in one of the tent sites, not the RV area. It was cool, windy and it rained intermittently but we enjoyed the privacy of the camp site and the uniqueness of this National Park. We took hikes to Bear Gulch Reservoir up the Moses Spring trail through the Bear Gulch Caves and back along the Rim Trail. The next day we hiked along the Old Pinnacles Trail to the Balconies Cave and Cliff trail, but when we arrived at the Balconies cave, the door was locked - there were no signs or other indications at the trailhead that the cave was closed, so this was the only bummer on the trip. We rode bikes to the trailheads on the first two days, but drove the RV to the Bear Gulch trailhead on day three when we hiked the Condor Gulch-High Peaks Trail loop. We had two sightings of condors, the first from our campsite on the first morning in the park and the second during our hike up the Condor Gulch trail. It was a great visit!

Michael Kelly - the camp host- was amazing! My boyfriend and I left in a rush that morning, yet still didn't arrive to the campground until right before 5. He sold us firewood and drove it all the way back to our secluded campground despite the store technically being closed, where upon we told him that we apparently forgot bedding. All types of bedding. Only an air mattress in February. He was so nice about it, of course with the necessary chiding we deserved. Instead of leaving us out on our own, he went to his private supply of blankets and loaned us sheets, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags - you name it. Without his kindness we would have been a frozen mess and definitely would not have been able to enjoy the beautiful hikes in the area. The camp ground was clean, beautiful, and so quiet aside from the calls of nature - it was a serene visit and I would absolutely recommend coming here, just don't forget blankets.
