The parking lots at the trailheads on the east side (Moses Spring, Bear Gulch and Old Pinnacles) fill up very fast, by 8am, then you have to park in the overflow parking by the campground store and walk in (shuttle buses only run Friday to Sunday). We saw condors on the High Peaks trail close to the junction of the Condor Gulch trail, and also on the Balconies Cliffs Trail. We had four great hikes: the South Wilderness Trail from the campground (out and back, 8 miles), the High Peaks loop counterclockwise (6 miles), Old Pinnacles parking lot to Chaparral parking lot (out and back, 8 miles) and Chalone Peak (out and back 6.5 miles). The Bear Gulch caves are fun and easy, the Balconies caves require flashlights, water shoes are recommended).

Great camping especially if youre in for the hiking. But racoons are definitely a problem and while we were very organized and watchful with food, other campers were less vigilant. Be prepared to see racoons getting close even if you keep a clean camp.

Great national park and campground. Secured a spot at campsite 22, keep in mind this spot is exposed to the sun in the afternoon so depending on the weather you will definitely want to find shadier spots. Lots of amazing birds to spot. Open dark skies for awesome stargazing opportunities. The drive into the park is also very scenic. Highly recommend.

1. Overzealous law enforcement. 2. Super crowded on weekends.

Excellent campsite with potable water and clean bathrooms. Camp store has anything you could possibly have forgotten. Close proximity to Bear Gulch so you can hike over if you can't find parking. Saw condors from the campsite! Deer visited the site frequently, so if you bring dogs, make sure they have tick medicine! Lots of turkeys, quails, woodpeckers, and jays too!

This has been our favorite camping trip so far. The campsites are well-maintained, the bathrooms are clean, and the pool is a lifesaver in hotter months. I recommend waking up early if you plan to hike to both get parking at the trailheads and avoid the heat. We began our hikes around 7 am when it was ~50 degrees and parking was easy. When we finished our hikes (between 9 and 12) there was very limited parking left and temperatures were nearing 100. Although it was hot when we visited (high of 108), it is a very dry heat and comfortable to sit outside the shade. Although pricey, the camp store is well stocked with food and supplies in case you forget anything. Remember that you need to purchase an entry pass separately from your campsite reservation.

We had an absolutely magical experience at Pinnacles NP. The ranger sent us on two beautiful hikes. We marveled at the night sky. We saw so much wildlife--deer, quails, ground squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, woodpeckers, jays, crows, ravens, lizards, one snake and, of course, condors. Plus, all the wildflowers!

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
