It is a beautiful park and has a lot of nice trails. The campsite is very clean and nice. However, a lot of the poison oak in the campsite. Closet toilets are pit toilets.

Beautiful place, but beware the poison oak in the campsite areas that has nicely been cut back, as the stems and remaining parts of the plant can still get you. They got us. Otherwise a wonderful trip.

I camped at campsite 58, which had a decent amount of privacy but unfortunately our neighbours were a bit loud. The ban on campfires was still enforced which did not make much sense to me given the amount of wet weather the area had been getting. Easy to access, and trailheads are not far away. Hiked the High Peaks Trail and enjoyed the break from the rain, trail was well maintained and we had a great time.

A fantastic site with excellent shade coverage. Make sure to hike through the caves!

I love this campground. Its so well maintained and the staff is on top of things! We were there on an extremely hot weekend, so lots of people in the pool and the restrooms, and the staff did a great job of keeping things clean. The general store is really well stocked and fun to shop in. Trails around the park are well maintained also. I do wish there was more parking around the Balconies trail, as the lot fills up early and the next closest parking is quite far.

Pinnacles Campground was great. There was a small stream behind my site and there was good separation between the adjoining sites. They also had free showers available near the camp store. The only negative was the 'toilet' for the loop I was on was only 5 porta potties and a couple of foot pumped sinks to wash your hands, so no real place to brush your teeth or other morning washup.

Awesome campground. Clean and spacious. Saw the rangers patrolling regularly which I appreciated. Store was convenient. Showers were nice for a campground.

If you are running late, you can call ahead to the camp store before it closes and order firewood.

We stayed in site 58. Hidden beyond the brush, but open and connected to sites 59, and 60. Not a lot of privacy, but a nice site that backs up to the almost dried up stream. Lots of small wildlife and deer in the area. A raccoon came right up to our tent wall at night. Be sure to lock up all of your food and smelly items (deodorant, lotion, toothpaste). There's a spot for bird/condor watching at the front with telescopes. The shop is well stocked and has some great souvenirs. The other half of the building is the NPS shop that is only open Thursday to Monday.. also they have a swimming pool!

First-time visitor (and not the last) after experience in more than 30 NP's. This park impressed! It may be smaller and newer and less visited than several of the parks even in California, but it is nevertheless a gem! We went to both sides, camping two nights in the East and strolling a bit in the West. Campground was exquisite. We had lots of shade and a slight breeze in the 100-degree weather. Facilities were solid, except the restroom/shower at the pool, which needs a facelift. Animal life in the park was abundant and varied and the star-gazing at night was better than almost anyplace I have ever been including 6-7 thousand foot places. Gift shops had cool stuff and great information and exhibits and well-informed staff. We'll be back.

In March 2020 we made several camping trips to the Pinnacles to try out potential RV purchases. The Pinnacles was the ONLY National Park open for camping then, and the Park itself was only open for those with confirmed camping reservations. We returned in April 2020 for 2 nights.
There have been changes in the last year. Some due to Covid, some more concerning. The camping concession seems to have a very cozy relationship with the park management, and is intent on squeezing out more revenue and profits. The campground rates have increased considerably, and more and more of the sites are being converted to "tent cabins".
@JaniceL505 · Camped on Feb 20, 2021 at Campsite #58
The camp facility is excellent. The various sites have an interesting mix of settings from creek side to hillside. The restroom facilities are well kept and functioning. There is potable water every other site. The scattering of cabin options make for an interesting variety of choices. The group sites are spacious and placed away from the tent sites. Parking is very limited relative to the popularity of the park. The rangers do a good job trying to control traffic flow and distributing access. The trails have an interesting diversity in drama and scenery. This is a very manageable sized park to do in a couple of days.
