This park is beautiful. As is almost any park. However, this park does not meet expectations of a US National Park due to its under-development, lack of infrastructure, poor maintenance, few amenities (specifically the (one and only) campground), and smaller size. It feels more like a state park (and not a California State Park, since those are even nicer and more developed for visitors than Pinnacles), rather than a US National Park. There is only one campground on the East side with no camping option even offered for the West side (you cannot "cross the park" by vehicle and must enter either side, rather than both, so a campground on both sides seems to me as "a must" for this park to offer). The campground is located in a weak location in the middle of a wetlands/stream/swampy area that retains a lot of moisture (Colder in the winter, and more bugs in the summer) and should ideally be moved to a more scenic and appropriate location. Few permanent bathroom structures with many portable ones offered seem unacceptable given the very high nightly camping rate charged. Very few parking spaces near key hiking trailheads makes it hard to get to and forces shuttle bus rides (and the resulting waits and extra operational cost to the Park). Trail development is nice in most areas, but needs more development in about 20% of the trails to bring them up to National Park standards (and prevent stepping in puddles/mud or very skinny trail sections).

Pinnacles campground is awful. Most of the vehicles run heaters and generators all night. We had a confrontational neighbor who showed up late, backed into his friends trailer, and then yelled at us in the middle of the night while shining a flashlight into our tent. NPS should make 90% of the campsite available as walk in only with vehicles separated by a minimum of 100m. Put an end to car culture in the wilderness. Pinnacles is almost entirely Sprintervans, RVs and cab overs.

The campsite 72c was just ok. Very open, no shade and no place to rig a tarp for rain. There are many other better sites.Store clerks were awesome and accommodating. Hikes EPIC!

Clean and quiet.. with free hot shower. However, only potty restroom at loop C. We have to drive to the main restroom in the morning and night time instead

The site was very pretty and clean. The workers were all exceptional and great at their job. The down side of our trip was it was over 100* and instead of cleaning the pool before or after hours, they chose to close it down at 1:00 in the afternoon for 4 hours! It was so hot and misserable. And the kids had no place to cool off. Poor planning on their part. Also a lot of sites had no shad at all

This was our first trip to Pinnacles. What a wonderful experience! The campsite was well-laid out, the staff was friendly and helpful and the shuttle was fantastic for accessing different parts of the park. Thank you for a fun weekend!

This was a great place. It was quiet, sites were spaced nicely. Bathrooms were clean and access to water was easy. We'd definitely stay here again.
