Great campsite, awesome all around. Lot's of animals and creatures throughout the grounds, that really captures the kids attention and imagination. Highly recommended.

This a beautiful and very distinctive park. The main problem is that there is very limited parking at the trailheads and no shuttle service, so on a busy day it can be impossible to see the sites. We stayed two nights and couldn't do any of the trails (besides the one that starts near the campground) on the first or last day of our stay. I hope they add shuttle service!

We stayed at Site #68. The site itself was fine: No poison oak, a tree that could offer shade on hotter days, and right across from the river-front campsites. At night, you could hear the frogs, and in the morning, you could hear the turkeys. Quick walk to the local restroom, which was clean. The overall campsite was one of my favorite: free, clean, hot showers that had free shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the main restroom by the Camp Store, reflective signs indicating camp site directions (VERY helpful when arriving after dark), potable water, and a swimming pool that could be used in the summer. One of the better parks to camp at!

From the eastern side of the park I went on 2 spectacular hikes. The first and shorter hike was from the Bear Gulch parking lot, up Bear Gulch Cave trail, through the caves - only good if you are NOT claustrophobic - and on to the Reservoir. I loved the steep stairway carved into the rock face just below the Reservoir. It was a beautiful fall day, with temps in the 70s. From there I walked back on the Rim trail. The second day, I headed up Condor Gulch trail to the viewpoint. At the Viewpoint I was fortunate enough to watch a Condor perched at the top of a rock outcrop directly across from the Viewpoint - bring binoculars! I then hiked up to the saddle for more spectacular views of the park and east. One of the most amazing things I saw in the park -besides the Condors - were the yellow pines that the Acorn Woodpeckers have been using for generations, storing tightly packed acorns which they use to farm insects, which are a staple of their diet. There are many of these standing Yellow Pines full of acorns being stored on the hike up Condor Gulch Trail - Enjoy your visit - I know I'll be back!

Overall a nice campground, but it's kind of scary that there's raccoons. I wanted to stay up a bit longer to look at the stars, but when I was putting away dirty clothes in my car and trash in the food box, a raccoon showed up. Campsite 38 was okay. It is quite small and the whole set up of the table, fire ring, and food box did not make it easy to choose a spot to set up my tent. I liked that it was more private than other sites, had some shade in the afternoon, and was pretty close to a restroom. Most of the restrooms at the campground were also pretty clean, so that was nice! Loved the automatic faucet.

Limited visit Christmas eve through most of Christmas day stayed over night at campground, visit limited by weather and other time constraints. First time visiting this national park, really enjoyed my time there. The campsites seemed better spaced out with some privacy, bathrooms were kept clean. I did not use the other camp facilities so can't speak to those. Also due to the holiday and weather the number of visitors was likely less than normal. Saw a lot of wild life-dear, flock of turkeys, rabbit, lots of birds around the campground and spotted Condors while hiking. It seemed very family friendly, I'll definetly will return.

Great spot. My site (#38) has a nice shaded area at the back. The pool is amazing after a long hot hike.

The campsite is amazing in winter time while most of the campsite is closed. plenty of spaces, both shade and sunshine. and not that cold. birds all around, and racoons too.
