Not enough toilets for a campground of ~160 sites.
@AlexandriA20FB · Camped on Apr 18, 2025 at Campsite #42
On Saturday the bathrooms near us were out of order. They were closed all that night and into the next day. Every single toilet was out of order. There are not enough toilets and bathrooms for the campground. At a minimum there should be portapotties placed near the bathrooms for when such emergencies occur.

The campground was clean and the sites were spacious. The camp store was also nice. The raccoons were a bit of a nuisance so use the food container lockers or put food in your vehicle.

Stayed at site 42 which I can recommend. Very close to bathrooms, but not so close that there's high traffic. I visited in mid November. The weather was great - a nice balance of cold and moderate. Campground was very empty mid week. Pinnacles is a great park for hikers. Not much else to do if you don't like hike. Especially good for strenuous hiking.

We had a wonderful flat site, reasonably quiet and close to the rest rooms, in the no-hookups area. Worked fine as we had plenty of solar power, and had tanked up with water beforehand. Its a big campground, very full on the weekendIf arriving in the afternoon, get ready for a wait at the entrance where they have a one in, one out program when the park is fulleven if you have a campsite rez. But worth the wait! Great hiking from camp or can drive. We saw condors every day which is amazing, and there was a splendid docent at Bear Gulch who answered many questions. Also quail, bunnies, ground squirrels and many birds. If you are going to camp, get a reservation!!!

Had a great time visiting Pinnacles NP and stayed three nights at the campground. No problem with raccoons, if you store your food right. Two evenings in a row a group of condors flew along the ridge opposite the campground, very nice view! Nice big campingplaces and lots of scrubs etc.

Pinnacles NP is a beautiful place to hike and the star gazing is incredible. The campground has a gift shop, a well-stocked store, ice, wood, showers, flush toilets and a pool in summer (the temps get hot). Take binoculars for viewing the condors. Don't leave any food items unattended in camp because the raccoons are fast and they'll climb in an open vehicle. Plenty of critters to see (birds, acorn woodpeckers, owls, deer, condors, coyote)Expect crowds outside of the camp sites, many people come for the day to hike. Unless you arrive very early, expect to wait in lines for the shuttle that take you to the parking lots closest to hikes around the pinnacles. Depending on your arrival time to the park, there can be long waits to get inside the park. There is a trail from the campground to the main parking lot where most people begin hiking, and it adds about 6 miles RT if you decide to skip the shuttle.

Well, It was okay for a last minute trip. I didn't like the squirrel infestation.. It got real annoying and there was a injured one that the park is just letting roam around..poor guy. I also didn't like that night 1 we had our tiny Propane fire pit on and noone said anything only night 2 when we legit used it fir only cooking s'mores for the kids we got in trouble by a doughnut eating ranger. The husband explained that TWO employees (one worker and one manager) said it was safe to use because its propane, but chunky wasn't having it. We luckily were done and had it off anyway. The second night was just crazy with loud neighbors til about 3am and no rangers told them anything.. so yeah I won't be camping here again. Cute raccoons and birds though.

There was construction during the day. All bathrooms were portable. Only showers were at the visitor center.
Other campers were very loud all night. Quiet times were NOT enforced. It was a very disappointing experience unfortunately.

camping at the Pinnacles in the spring time is the best! So many flowers and great trails. The campsite was perfect, right next to a babbling creek.

Campground signage was well marked, making it easy to find my campsite when I arrived late in the evening!

The Natl Park is great, and most campground spots have at least partial shade and many have privacy. However, the campground has 139 spots (which can host up to 6 people per site) and I found out that the showers have only 4 stalls (2 for men and 2 women)! Also, the pool was closed (and it was 108 degrees that day) and several of the bathrooms were out of order and backing up. If the maintenance is better next time I go I might up it to 4 stars but they definitely need more showers. I took mine at 5am and didn't have to wait but I'd imagine it's well over an hour or two wait at peak times.

Glad they had a pool and showers because it was hot. Bathrooms near campsite were out of order which kind of sucked. Had to walk quite a distance to portapotties. The raccoon issue needs to be dealt with asap. This infestation has been going on for years but it is really bad now. Entire raccoon families come into your camp, jump in your car, go into unzipped tents and steal foodevery night. If you dont have a dog, borrow one, otherwise be prepared to fend off racoons the entire evening.

Loved the park but the campground was one of the most expensive in the NPS system. There was a restroom out of service for over a year now so had to use spot a pot for much of the campground. The raccoons were very aggressive as I was sitting by the door to my van, within 12 inches, and a raccoon tried to get into my van with me sitting there. He did not scare away easily either and was back the next night.

Im really impressed with the beauty and how accessible is to get to the observation points. Excellent hiking. I recommend Pinnacles National Park. People complain about the parking lot but It is so easy to take the shuttle.

Our campground was in a great location, near a path that lead to the camp store and other trails. The bathroom was across the road which has its pros and cons! Be aware of the raccoons they are aggressive! The campsite was great since it had shade and surrounded by trees.

The campground is nice and the general store is complete with unique gifts and souvenirs. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Everything was great except for a loud group of college-age boys near our site.

Excellent hike through Bear Gulch Caves to reservoir then up along high peaks trail. Not for faint of heart. Lots of steps, narrow path but also handrails. Trekking poles very helpful, headlamp necessary in caves. Camp store well stocked with any camp items you may need. No alcohol. Food limited. NP gift store decent.Showers were hot. Restrooms clean.
