The group campsite is very loud, late into the night. Even though there are reminders about dark skies there are a lot of bright lights brought in by campers. Two groups had campfires going despite the fire restrictions.

Extreme raccoon attacks including hundreds of dollars of damage to tents. Our group is experienced and does not leave food in tents. These were exploratory raids by the raccoons.

Great campsite & location. (Group site 128) - only issue was one side of our picnic table had no seat! Didn't end up needing it since there was a second table.Lots of bold raccoons who venture out at night - make sure to keep food locked away at all times. Turkeys, quail & bunnies all around. Lovely hike on the bench trail right behind groups campsites.

My friends and I enjoyed a return visit to Pinnaces Campground. It was nice to have access to camp store (ice cream bars after a hike is quite a treat!), a National Parks store, and some enjoyed the showers. Sunsets and high altitude condor sightings were lovely. The California quail were quite active; we enjoyed their conversations morning and evening. Best of all, we were a short f=drive from the trailheads of a magnificent national park!

Stayed at site 128. It is down a small hill from the road, so you will have carry all your gear down stairs or slide it down the hill to get it to the site, however the site is well worth it. It is HUGE and could probably fit 20+ tents. There is a bit of shade from the trees, unlike some of the other sites, however no trees for setting up hammocks. We really loved how set back this site was from the road, as we didn't really see or hear anyone else during our stay, which was especially nice at night not being blinded by car headlights driving through the grounds. The camp store is great for anything you forgot, or even just a cold ice cream on a hot day. The current price for firewood is $12 for 5 pieces, which ended up lasting us both nights we were there. The hosts take great care of the campground and can regularly be seen driving around should you need any help. This was the second time I have camped here (previously at site 124 which I would not recommend), and I will definitely continue to come back, as the convenience of staying in the park is unparalleled.

Arrived after the Camp Store had been closed. Greeted by a nice fella on a golfcart just needing info for our stay. Group sites are nice even for a van.

We stayed in the group site 131. We loved that it was set off the road and down a little hill because it felt so private. The bathrooms were close and clean. The hikes were amazing. If you have young kids like us Id recommend driving to the parking lot for Bear gulch to start the hike closer. The first day we walked from the campground which was also a lovely hike but we just made it to the parking lot and turned around from there. We had a great time even though we werent allowed to have fires which is understandable for safety reasons, but a bummer for fall camping.

We loved our most recent visit to the Pinnacles. We stayed in the group site #131. Pros of this site: Private-camping area down an embankment, partially shaded, good proximity to the water spigot, bathroom and trail head. It was HOT and since the pool was closed we resorted to dumping buckets of water over ourselves to stay comfortable. Riding our bikes on the main road was really fun for the family. Facilities and staff were wonderful. Draw backs included lots of very persistent wildlife in search of food. Most notable were the raccoons but squirrels and crows as well. Do not leave any food unattended at any time day or night. Also we realized rather quickly that ants know the storage locker is a good spot to get food so we had to store our dry goods in the car over night and used it only for the cooler.
