This was quite a bit more expensive than a typical NP campground due to private ownership, so I expected nicer facilities. Bathroom cleanliness was okay but not great. The showers are free despite their pre arrival email confusion. Firewood was $20 so we skipped doing one. Most disappointing was the pool being closed and still not planning to open for several more weeks, even though the website stated 4/1 open pending weather. There seemed to be a maintenance problem and the whole area was overgrown with weeds. It just didn't look like a priority. Unfortunately it was super hot two of the days we were camping - I'm sure plenty of folks would have loved to get in the pool. This is the main reason we stayed.

Nice campground. Overall great experience with a class A rv. Note there is only 30amp electrical hookups and there is only water near some of the sites so you will need to pull up to one of the water spouts to fill up your water tank. Or come with water tank filled before you settle in your site. Dump station at entrance.

some spots for camping have no shade. Bring a canopy for the picnic table during summer.hot during summer. Pool is really helpful to cool down by 12-4pm!Pool hours was 11am-5:30pm on june/2024.when I was there, the pool was closed on a Thursday for maintenance.During hot days, plan to hike as early as possible to be on a shade spot by 11am. store is good and has ice.showers are good, sometimes can be dirty if is almost time to clean up. Nature Center has a great video about the park. Staff were nice.

Campground was nice but the extensive road repair activity and associated closings and delays really detracted from my overall experience.

Beautiful time of year to visit the Pinnacles. So green and wild flowers in bloom. The High Peaks Trail and then over to the Reservoir and Caves is so much fun. Along our hike we had the amazing experience of seeing a Condor perched on a large rock formation about 100 feet from us then it spread its 9 foot wings and just lofted up and floated around above us for a few minutes then soared down Condor Gulch. Sent chills down our spines at how majestic this bird is. Camping is great whether in an RV (like we did) or tent camping. Store is very well equipped in case you forget anything or want something fun to do at night. We bought the National Parks version of Scrabble and had fun testing our knowledge. We feel so lucky to have the Pinnacles Nat'l Park so close to our home In San Luis Obispo. If you need cell service, spend the $7 for 24 hour service. Otherwise just do without it for the time your there.

Hospitable host, tidy RV site, clear, cold weather, gorgeous hike to the Pinnacles. Mother Nature never disappoints.

The caves were amazing. Rocks had beautiful green moss. Water falls in the caves. Views outrageous! Hiking trails in good shape. Winter is the time to come. Cold, 26 degrees at night,,, hardly anyone there. But you have to be set up for the cold

Easy and convenient but use the food storage lockers. We placed bag of groceries on a chair then went to the vehicle to get a second load before starting dinner. In the few moments we turned our back 8 raccoon took off with our dinner. Impressive just how quickly they snatched it. RV receptacle is a TT-30 R. We had the wrong adapter. They do have WiFi but its cost something close to $3 per 1 hour, $7 for 24 hour PER device. Download speeds 7.65Mbps upload 1.46Mbps

Check in with super easy, because I literally just checked my email and drove to the spot. Site number 84 is the easiest back into ever! Each site had a lot of room, very nice. Camp store was well stocked, RV dump station was easy to use, and the hike to pinnacles Peak was very pleasant. Honestly, if you go to the campground, get ready for a very beautiful two hour hike, bring a big fat camera! Our only regret is that I only had my iPhone camera, not my big old camera! Definitely want to go back. We went in November and it was just beautiful. The leaves were all gorgeous colors, we saw a wild turkey, wild quail, some rabbits, and a deer.

Campground is very clean. Staff friendly. Conveniently located to hiking trails. RV hook ups. Showers are clean and was pleasantly surprised with the free shampoo and soap in the shower. Nice and quiet. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

#84 is in full sun all day. Gets shade about 5 pm. Level campsite. Water spigot is across the street and needs about 75 ft of hose to fill the tank from the campsite. Quiet campground during the spring weekdays. See #83 campsite review for more campground/park details.

we enjoyed our stay #84was a great site for our 35' motorhome and having the 20 amp electric hook-up was very nice. we enjoyed the hiking trails but the trail signs were not good and in some areas not there at all so it was difficult finding the right trail to take. wished the pool had been open as it was a warm week. they were hoping to be open by April 1st We will be back when it is open

several issues.
1) I called ahead to ask about wi-fi availability, and was told that it was available. Although one could purchase wi-fi, it didn't actually reach the camping area with a good enough signal to support zoom.
2) although I paid for an RV space because I wanted to hook up to the electrical, the electrical would not accept a simple 3-prong extension cord, so I never received the benefit of the electrical hookup, and I couldnot run my heater in the very cold weather we had.
3) there are very few bathrooms and they are quite a walk to get to.
4) there are very few garbage bins, and they are not conveniently in the campground, but instead at the very edge of it.
altogether these factors seriously impacted my enjoyment of the trip

We had rain on several days during our visit but on sunny days we enjoyed walking the Bench Trail and the trail going out to and beyond the old farmstead.
Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on either of these trails so we had to take our hikes separately and could only walk the campground together.

Crappy campground and services, way out of the way, and no decent hikes from the campground. It was super crowded (not sure why) and we could not buy firewood when we arrived at dusk as the campground employee didn't seem to want to go get any for us.
@vickiR54251229 · Camped on Nov 17, 2020 at Campsite #84
We stayed at the RV campground - the sites are quite large and having power made our stay a bit more comfortable. There are more water hydrants than there used to be, so water is more accessible now. Hiking trails are in excellent condition; my only negative observation is that the park map does not include information about elevation gain on each trail (although trail length is provided, trail markings and trail maps are good).Dark skies made for fabulous starry nights!
