Great place to hike and the campgrounds are very clean.

The park had nice, well tended hiking trails. Directional signs were an issue at times. The campgrounds restrooms are in serious need of upgrades. 2 of 3 toilets in the portable shower/toilet trailer were out of order. There are 3 portable toilets. Showers were nice but one was out of order. Electricity was a problem for me and several other campers that I spoke to. It would work sporadically but always at non peak hours. The campground was full and I never got power in the mornings or at dinner times. The staff was friendly and tried to help but to no avail. A couple of them admitted the electrical needed an upgrade.

We were only here for one day but the campsite was fine, dump convenient, did one hike and it was very enjoyable. Very few people. Trailheads are small and there is no RV parking so we had to park one mile away and walk to the trail head. We saw turkey and deer, sadly no condor.

The hiking is amazing! But the restrooms were disgusting. They looked like they were only cleaned weekly and it was spring break when we were there. Lots of people in the park, using the facilities. Outhouses were practically overflowing.

Stopped by for one night to check out the area. Dry and dusty! Lucky the weather was ok and not hot as there no POWER for us. Their system lacks a neutral/ground bond so our surge protector prevented service to our rig. This could be a major safety hazard and no one seems to care. Also, Hwy25 to the south is a disaster making access to the campground a very unhappy experience. Good luck

Beautiful campgrounds. Very clean bathrooms and grounds. Rangers accessible and pleasant. We hiked to the reservoir via the tunnels and had a great time.

This park is very crowded this time of the year. Parking at the trailheads is very limited, requiring the rangers to close the road when the parking lots fill. There was no shuttle bus available in early April, so if you arrived late you could only park at the visitor center.

Sweet!

We enjoyed our stay at Pinnacles NP. Since the weather was cool and rainy we didn't have any luck seeing condors, even when we hiked to the High Peaks. However, in the campground there was a flock of turkeys that were quite entertaining! Visiting Pinnacles in cooler weather when everything is green and wet was a different, but pleasant experience for us. The Pinnacles website says there is no cell service in the park. However, in the campground we had good AT&T service.

Ive been at the campground, and its one of the best beginner friendly campsites around the Bay Area. However, this review isnt about the campground, but the reservation process and the amazingly hard phone support system.I had booked the site the day of, and there were no clear warnings about the park closures. I happened to check the Instagram handle and found out about the fires and the closure. I then tried 7-8 times to call and get the reservations canceled, but the system seems to be designed to be uniquely unhelpful to the user. If youre allowed to make last min reservations, why are you allowed to cancel. Especially in situations like park closures or wildfires?I love the park, and have always had great interactions with the rangers. But this campground reservation process was dismal at best!

The site was quiet and clean. The amenities worked well and the store is a short walk away if you forgot any supplies or food. The popular trailheads are a ways away so I recommend driving a car or riding a bike to save time.

Lots of wildlife throughout campground area. Watched condors cruising a ridge top. They were far away but we confirmed with binoculars. We only did a shorter hike up to the reservoir but it was fantastic! Had a little bit of everything: caves, overhangs, vista points, wildflowers, dragon flies, waterfall!!! The swimming pool was an unexpected surprise although we did not use it. Next time!!!

because we left our dog in our camper with fan on. only a 3 mi hike as we had our dog with us

The shuttle makes quick time getting from the visitor's center to the trail heads of each parking lot, but we've also come on weekends when it isn't running and had to hike the 2 mile distance - maybe COVID hours? Start the day early, because shuttle congestion starts around lunch, and you might have to wait for the next bus or two...

If you have the time, visit both the Bear Gulch AND Balconies Caves for a unique experience found at Pinnacles. Make sure to bring your headlamps and waterproof boots, as you'll encounter some dark caves and natural streams along the way. Sport climbing is available, but expect many of the lesser climbed routes to be covered in lichen and fairly "chossy." End your day spending the night sleeping under the stars with stories told by the campfire.

January Temps: Highs in the 60s (with sun), Lows in the 30s, freezing overnight moisture.
Pack away all your food, or a pack of raccoons will steal all of it!

Great level camping with electricity hook ups. Not a lot of shades though.

More than one working shower would have been helpful. However, the staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help. Campground was clean.

Don't bother spending time picking a spot with shade, they'll move you around either way to where it suits them best.

The park was beautiful and the hiking trails were well marked. The sightings of condors were incredible and frequent, both from the campsite and on the hikes, especially Condor Trail. The scenery on the drive to the park was also wonderful. The campstore had all the basic needs and the pool was very nice and clean. The park management was not as good as at other national parks. For instance, the campsite numbers were changed prior to our arrival and we were not notified. Each campsite had two different numbers, one on the electrical outlet and a different one on the post. This caused a great deal of confusion regarding which site belonged to which camper. Also, there was a lack of information (and sometimes mis-information) given about checking in, signing into wifi, purchasing firewood, etc. Finally, there wasn’t a good place to park an RV at the day use parking areas, and the shuttles were not operating due to COVID, so we had to hike two miles just to get to the trailheads for most of the hikes. However, I’m sure this would have been okay if the shuttles were able to run, and we DID know about the lack of shuttles prior to our visit.

A mid-week visit with some occasional drizzle makes for a quiet hike on the trails.

We arrived mid March and found hiking with cooler temperatures was way preferable the hiking in the summer.

We stayed one night at Pinnacles during a road trip. The campground was wonderful and clean. I do wish there was a bathhouse closer to the RV area. We prefer not to use our RV shower and it was quite a hike to get to the bathhouse. The hike from the campground to Bear Gulch is a bit long. We preferred to drive to the day-use area, but parking would be an issue during busier seasons. Even though the caves were closed during our visit we loved the Moses Spring Loop hike and really don't feel like we missed out too much!
