Bring an awning and or a canopy if you're in a campsite numbered above 11 due to limited shade and most of the campsites. Fun tubing is possible but water level is low (9 inches) so you end up having to stand up several times to get down the river. It's a very pretty setting and it stays cool in the shade next to the river if you can get one of those sites. Bear boxes to store your food in the campground were not present but I saw a bear 5 mi north of the campground when leaving, so this may be a future problem.

We were in site #14, which claims to be a "parallel" spot. I assume that means you don't have to back in. The area was not large enough to just pull up with our popup. And there is a small area to back into, so the site should be specified as a back-in.

Had a perfect spot with stunning views. Able to get in a 10 mile hike and soak it all in!

My family have been coming to Spruce Grove since the late 60s. This campground is well maintained with really nice tent pads that have great drainage and are level. Big fire rings allow for nice camp fires and there is a grate for over the top if you want to cook over it. The camp host was great and very attentive. There is firewood for purchase ($8/bundle) so bring cash. The camp host has even set up a fun skeleton display to greet you along with several big foot signs. The river is great and lots of easy trails and rocks to climb. There are two bathrooms on site along with a hand pump for fresh water.

This is a great campground, so close to the Front Range and I almost hate to share such positive feedback for fear of alerting the crowds! It's small enough to not feel too busy even when full and, though trailers are welcome, the lack of electric hookups made for relatively few trailers and nothing big - mostly tent campers. This area of Colorado on a whole can get dry, dusty and hot on particularly hot summer days, but the campground does have a little tree cover around and the creek running right through camp is cool and pleasant. There's some decent trout in there too, if you can catch them!

Our family really enjoyed our 2 nights at Spruce Grove (spot 14). The camp was clean, quiet, and friendly. Mike & Charlotte are great camp hosts and made us feel very welcome! Our particular spot didn't have daytime shade, but the kids loved being able to tube in the creek and we loved being able to watch them from the bank via the small path behind our camp spot. It was truly a beautiful location and we hope to go back soon.

Gorgeous surroundings and awesome hosts. Brought tubes for the river - only got in one trip due to rain but it was a blast; definitely not a leisurely float but was fun.
We love this campground. It has it all-the stream, rocks, trails and nice campgrounds. It's a family favorite!

We stumbled across this campground a month ago and loved it so this time booked our favorite site #14 by the river where we could still back in and use our roof top tent! They have many beautiful walk in tent sites by the river as well. Beautiful area!

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
