This is a beautiful scenic canyon with great camping sites.

Took 3yo and 4yo for their first camping trip. Loved it! There was a lot of rock formations for them to climb, a nice 1mi rt hike that they really enjoyed. Plenty of access points to the river and it was shallow and calm enough to play in. A lot of people fishing. They were friendly and engaging. Saw some deer, fish, chipmunks and a lot of birds. No cell phone coverage. Bathrooms were clean. There is a hand pump for well water. You'll be close enough to engage with other campers with a quick walk to their camp so it's not super private

Nice little campground WAY of the beaten path after CAREFUL analysis, I was able to get my 35' 5th wheel into the site I had carefully researched. When we arrived, there was a family cooking their meal in the site (they had no reservation and were day squatting) Not wanting confrontation and they really weren't in out way (and they had small kids) we let them finish cooking as they already had a fire going. Sometimes you just have to roll with it. We only spent one night there, but in hind site, I would have spent several more nights there and it was an amazing experience. The worst part was the wash-boarded Eleven Mile Canyon Road. If you are pulling a larger RV and not extremely confident in your vehicle negotiation skills, I would not try this. Checkout "campsite recon" on you tube for a good drive through video. At the entrance, there is a curve to the left with a rock wall on the right and a boulder on the left and a hump in the middle of that. My biggest fear was hitting the truck bed with the trailer at that spot.

We camp at Spillway at least once each summer. The views are spectacular, the campground is kept clean and the host is awesome. Until we found this tucked away site we weren't to thrilled with eleven mile reservoir area. All along the spillway is breathtaking views especially in late September, the colors are amazing.

Other than the rough road conditions (8 miles of nasty washboard), we loved the campground (Spillway) itself. For those that are planning to camp out with a travel trailer or RV make sure everything is well tied down Access to the Platte River was very close. The fishing was great. All of the other campers were polite, friendly, and quiet. We will go there again.

We were in site number 21. Beautiful spot lots of shade. The facilities are kept pristine. Campfire pit is swept out for the next guest and the bathrooms are as clean as you will find them. Camp host was a pleasure.
