Ophir Creek campground is off the beaten path. It is very quiet and beautiful Site 1 is unlevel both fore to aft, and port to starboard. Heck, most camp site in Colorado are unlevel, so I was ready for it. It only took a few minutes to get my 24-foot camper level. Bishop's Castle is just around the corner and worth the visit. There is a nice hiking trail at Davenport Campground which is just down highway 165. Don't be shy about exploring the local dirt roads. County roads 361 and 364 are well maintain and provide scenic views. Most importantly, Ophir Creek is just a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of camping in Southern Colorado.

I really like this campground and it's location. However it would be more appealing if the sites were mowed/weedeated. The grass is overgrown .

Quiet, small, and old. No class A and no generators at night or day. Great host.
