The sites are not ADA. Because of this we traded sites with another group so that they had better access to their site. It wasnt perfect but it worked. Its more like limited accessibility i.e. steps and dirt paths not mowed wide enough. The lip of the concrete pad into the bathroom. Beautiful location. Super close to Bishops. You do hear everyone else at the site. Be aware of off lease dogs, they shouldnt be but there were a couple.

Reserved accessible site with Adirondack shelter. Long walk from parking area and another site was just a few feet away, way too close..

Favorite group campsite! Always clean and easy to get to. Camp host is awesome! See you next year!

Located in a very remote setting (there are no nearby stores to run to,) this lovely campground is quiet; occasional airplanes are all you'll hear. It takes a while to figure out the layout, but that's part of the charm. The other charming part is the log shelters and tables. Even if your site doesn't have one, shelters add to the historical feel of the campground. It is convenient to several hiking trails, but not much else.
Practical points:
* As of August, 2020, the water pump that serves sites 1,2, and 3 is out of order, and walking then driving then walking again to the pump near site 6 is a hassle.
* Bear-proof lockers are available to all sites, which makes walk-in camping much easier.
* If you're thinking about visiting Bishop Castle, read all the signs near the entrance. After I read the signs, I chose not to enter.
