This was the first year tompkins campground was open past labor day. It did not disappoint. We were in coverage and the complete cove was booked. Where sometimes during the summer you see spaces empty. It was such a great time spent outdoors for fall. We truly hope tompkins campground can be open in years to come past labor day.

Got there just before the Gypsy moth came. We only seen a few. Last week of May. But they were just starting to show. Its a shame that they can't spray on Federal land like they do on state land. Ives Run had tape on all the trees in the park to try to stop the spread. Don't know if it will help.

Compared to last year it was 100 percent improvement. The grass was mowed the swimming area was kept clean. Great job

Overall the park is very nice. The only thing I didn’t like was the grass hadn’t been cut for the week I was there and there was a lot of debris on the boat landing that I feel the staff there should have cleaned up

Reserve your spot a year in advance if you want certain sites. This campground had so much promise and potential but was passed over for Ives Run just south of here. This is a quiet place that has nice sites but is getting run down from neglect. We have been going here since 1980 and with just a little money it would be as nice now as it was then. If you can get a good site I recommend it.
