Our visit to Ives Run was late in the season and the campground was run with limited staff. The volunteer camp stewards, small staff & responsible campers made everything work perfectly. I love this campground and commend the Army Corps of Engineers for their excellent management.

Large clean sites. Good water pressure, no WiFi but over the air TV was ok. Clean bathrooms. Great campground quite peaceful and relaxing.

First off, we normally love Ives Run!About site 104, it is short to park a camper and impossible for two vehicles. I feel they should update this site in the details about section. Our camper is 29' total length, it didn't allow a vehicle parked in front of it & it wasn't wide enough to park beside the trailer tongue, we were scolded by the rangers that our tires were slightly on the grass & it wasn't allowed! They left a warning on the windshield. Seems many vehicles had this same trouble around the park but I didn't see other warning notes! This site: is full on sun! You'll want a few canopies!Lastly and un-related... we and the majority of the fellow campers in "our loop", were less than impressed with one of the campground hosts! Granted, some people need to follow the rules but... some of the hosts are ignorant! Yes they are there to act as a liaison to the park and the rangers but, they act like the own and run the place! Constantly scolding people and threatening to call the rangers! I had two "run ins" with the people in the kubota! Once, I was told that I shouldn't let my dog out to the end of his retractable leash (in an open field), when I asked why, he said it was a rule! Yeah, sure thing pal! Second "run in" was with a woman stating that I couldn't block the road while hooking up our camper because she had other guests checking in! My wife about told her where to go on this one! First off, check out is at 3:00, it was 1:00!!!! Check in is at 4:00!!! The four minutes I needed to hook up & was slightly blocking the road, I apologize but, what should they expect! I was so frazzled by her arrogance that I almost forgot to remove the X-chocks between my wheels and secure the hitch, just to clear her road!In any case, I strongly feel that Army Corps of Engineers needs to get their dogs on a leash! The host wouldn't give her name but I guarantee that if they did a survey, they'd learn that there is a severe overreach of power w/ hosts!

We were warned about our dog on our site not being on a leash and threatened with an 80 fine while I witnessed camp hosts dog running loose and host didn't clean up after his own dog. I don't have an issue with rules but hosts need to follow if there's gonna threats of fines.
