We visited mod week in October. Many open sites. Very quiet and well maintained. We'll be back!

Visit Date: May 2-10,2023: This is a nice campground with a beautiful 650 acre lake! Here is why I deducted a star. The gypsy moths are back and I read on FB where the campground manager said sorry they can't treat them due to the campground being open. That is a sad statement after knowing full well they were inundated with them last season (2022) and made many camping trips less enjoyable than they should have been. Being proactive this season and treating the trees before the May 1,2023 campground opening date would been the proactive, best management practice to initiate. Instead they seemed to ignore hoping they would go away and
they did not. Now we have to endure another season of not being able to sit outside if you have a site with trees.
I found it interesting that the surrounding mountains and woods were being sprayed by airplane the week of May 5th + with the campground full and right in the path of the spray, but management states their is nothing they can do within the campground???????

So in closing what lesson did you learn a few years ago when the 200+ ash trees needed to be removed from within the park? There was no cure for the ash borer but their is for the gypsy moth, don't let it kill more trees within the park!!

gypsy moths were bad, some campers arriving at thier sites were greeted with 1/2 -1 inch of gypsy moth droppings all thier over pads at site ,no reason pads were not hosed off! Campground host in site 45 [Hawthorn] when on duty was always busy cleaning up branches and trash, cleaning firepits, running weed eater and mowing with push mower around sites putting out reservation papers in post at sites. The hosts in Aspen site [64] and hosts in Beech site [85] did nothing except ride around and put out reservation papers no reason they couldn't have hosed sites off, they had time

Wonderful park for biking. The camp store was open and the attendant was very friendly. Will definitely return to Ives Run!

We enjoy walks around the park. However, be sure to check your site as the last two trips here we experienced having to report the previous visitors failed to clean up after their pets.

This continues to be a beautiful campground. Our concerns are with the lack of staffing~no park ranger activity~no front desk staff. All work seems to be carried out by on site volunteer staff. They are frequently already busy with pressing issues or short staffed with other volunteers "off duty". We are concerned that the park quality will fail miserably if this lack of staffing continues. We enjoy camping early and late season, however when the park is full during peak season, we would not feel comfortable, due to concern for safety. Safety in numbers is not always the case. We also wonder if landscaping issues will suffer due to lack of staffing and appropriate care

Beautiful park with a level paved site for our motorhome. They only issue we had...and I felt like it was a big issue, was that we were getting power surges. We have a surge protector that we use and it kept cutting off our electric. The maintenance man checked the electric at our site and he checked that our surge protector was operating correctly. The only reason he could give was that the electricity service in that area appeared to be spiking. Campers that were not using surge protectors had no idea there was any problem.
