I rode up to the campground on my bike around 5:30pm. The host greeted me and described the different available options. He let me know that he had a hotspot at his site, in case I didnt have enough service to register. While I miss the old fashioned option of putting cash in a box, it worked. I do wonder what would happen without a hotspot to campers without cell service. The entire campground was clean and well maintained.

Both staff and hosts were helpful. Facility was well kept and lovely. Convenient to Confluence and the Gap Trail. Showers were hot and clean. The hiker/biker area was nice.

We were doing a portion of the GAP trail on our bikes from West Newton to Meyersdale. Outflow Campground provided a good stopping point just over 1/2 way. The hiker biker campsite was great. It was pretty easy to find off the GAP. We were hammock camping, so it was nice that there were hammock poles set up. They were a bit close together, but we were able to make them work.

The hiker and biker section is not well defined and can get crowded. There wasnt a clear check-in process, and I wasnt sure who to show my reservation to. Know that if you camp here, there is only a shared campfire area and no designated tent areas.

I utilized the hammock camping posts while cycling on the GAP. The posts were placed a good distance apart, worked well. The bathrooms and showers are a decent walk away which is my largest complaint, but the facilities were clean and functional... the showers could use a better push button function but hey, they worked.

After a very long day of self supported bicycle touring, I tried to register for a hiker/biker' site at the Outflow CG office which was closed. My cell coverage (Verizon) appeared to be adequate, but in trying to complete the registration form (I was already a registered, experienced user of Recreation.gov) the form hung, lost my data, and I was forced to restart the process at least 5 times. Probably as a result of this poorly designed and executed software interface I was eventually billed $24 for a two 'hiker / biker' sites while I was only trying to register for myself a single site. I tried to use my Senior Lifetime pass and this was rejected in at least one attempt. As nearly as I can figure out from the receipt, I was charged full price for one site ($16) and then a second site had the SL pass accepted ($16 - $8 SL discount = $8) and so $16 + $16 - $8 = $24, the amount I was charged.. It probably would have been impossible for me to register without the help of the Outflow CG volunteer (Chris ?) who used his cell phone to serve me a WiFi hotspot so I was finally able to complete a registration successfully. Self supported bicycle touring is an uncertain undertaking (as is hiking) with potential delays due to physical, weather, mechanical, etc. issues, impeding registering for a campsite in advance. Further it inhibits spontaneity and the freedom to explore a new area on a personal schedule. This is just one of a number of bad experiences I've had with recreation.gov and their inflexible policies. For example, last year four of us (ages 61 to 75) were self support cycle touring across MA with the intention of cycling Route 100 in VT 'end to end', i.e. the MA border to within a few miles of Canada. In North Adams, MA we had a mechanical issue that took some time to resolve. Had I not called Clarksburg SP in MA before 3 PM, Clarksburg staff confirmed we would have been turned away from a nearly empty campground.

This was my second stay at this campsite while riding the GAP trail. Quiet, convenient, and has all of the amenities needed for an overnight stay.

Tons of space for tent camping. You have to walk a ways for bathroom, showers and electric, but for $16 a night that's not a problem.

I was bikepacking down the GAP on my way to DC & stopped by here. The hiker/biker area isn't especially large, but can probably support 8 tents or so if I recall correctly. There's a fire pit w/ a grill top, a couple tables and bike rack. I had a pleasant experience, and the awesome volunteer host showed me where the spot was and checked me in. I felt safe the entire time.

Biked the GAP Trail and used the hiker/biker site. Hot showers, flush toilets, potable water and close to town.
