The campground owner, Amber, was so helpful when we were trying to decide where to hike. The surrounding trails had a variety of difficulty levels, from the longer 13 mile loop to the short rim trail up at the top, but they were all beautiful! The campground was scenic and peaceful and exactly what we were hoping for. I recommend a longer stay as there is so much to see and do in the area, we were there about 4 days and wished we had planned a longer trip. We had a blast and hope to go back!!

I understand campground hosts can't watch everything all the time, but due to the campers next door to me it was just a horrible experience. The neighboring young adult campers were already drinking when I arrived and checked in at 1:00. They got nothing but louder and louder all day into the evening. I came to the mountain campground for a quiet weekend. The camp rules given to me state that there is a 24/7 Quiet Hours times. The more my neighbors drank, the louder they became, all 8 of them and it was non-stop. Of course they also had to crank up their music every so often for everyone to hear. There was a Groundskeeper for the camp that kept flying by all day (well over the posted campground speed limit) on his little scooter but he never paid any attention to the party of 8 next to me. Since I could see nothing was going to be done by management, and in their loud conversations I heard them say they were going to be there until Monday, I made up my mind to pack up and just head out 1st light Sunday morning. This place is advertised as a beautiful, quiet place to spend some time away. It wasn't. Waste of time and money.

Great place to get away from it all! Wish the camp sites had electrical. Had a great time. Good place to start a hike on the Ozark highland trail.

Overall, a nice facility. Sites were well spaced out and even though it was mostly full Saturday night it was very quiet. Bathrooms were in good shape. The forest service road(s) up to the campground were rough so be prepared for that.

This place would've been great as a day trip (the rim trail is beautiful and great CCC history), but I was a little unhappy as a 3-day camper. The place is kind of falling apart, so there's some accessibility issues and a lot of construction noise and road grading going on, and it's supposed to be a 24/7 quiet hours campground! Road up there was closed - signage for detour was not obvious and there was no email communication about that. Worst part was they sold me wet firewood with no amends.

Very well kept campsite, clean bathrooms, and beautiful views all around. The general store has a lot of conveniences available if you forget something and there are some awesome hiking trails in the area. Definitely recommend!

I would have given five stars but the camping is not good for RVs staying more than a few days. There is no electricity at any sites and there is a 24/7 quite time enforcement. This makes it impossible to recharge your batteries if it is cloudy. The nearest place to recharge is down the mountain an hour. There is also no dump station and you can not dump your grey water anywhere. This is a great place for tent camping or a two day, possibly longer in warm weather, stay in an RV.

The camp manager "Amber" was great, very knowledgeable about the local area. Camp was clean, weather was great. Hike the short trail around the bluffs, very beautiful.

Beautiful place on top of the Ozark Mountains. Sites were as neat as a pin, host/manager was very helpful and kind. Only complaint, and I’m sure it’s my fault for not reading well enough the description of the location, but it’s about 8 miles up a very steep gravel road. Worth the drive!!!

Camping grounds are very well maintained. The RIM is a must see - sunrises and sunsets. The hosts were fantastic, friendly and helpful. I thought the trails were generally well marked, but do your research it is easy to get on the wrong path. You will lose cell service when you leave the top of the mountain, so paper maps or saving them is important.
