we were in #3 my favorite space reserved 6 months in advance. after setting up on a very hot day i had just sat down to enjoy our first of 14 days and oh ya you already knew that the power was going to fail! My wife was not happy! no fans no AC. 100 pluss!Ho by the way a coupled that the same problems. No juice. found a way to stay cool. They went to the swimming area and pulled grass for two days. Then there is the bath rooms the urinal not repaired just blocked off. And what about the sidewalk there? You guys can not afford cement 2nd year Just forms and its blocked off too..I love going to Lepage Gate keepers are nice and so are most all of the workers. All i can say is IF YOUR GOING TO DO IT DO IT RIGHT. Like the people that pulled the grass from the swim area while they were on vacation.

Beautiful area right on the water of the John Day River. Very easy access off the interstate. Its a very windy area most of the time and LePage offers a little protection. Nice swimming beach and a great place to fish and kayak when its not windy. Only downside we saw is the bathrooms/showers need a lot of work, pretty gross.

Right on the water! Beautiful. Some traffic noise. VERY hot midday in July when we went. (No shade trees) Will definitely be coming back when its cooler.

We love this camping spot so much. If you are staying you need to bring all the potable water you will need for your stay. But this is a small drawback for such a beautiful setting.

There is no shade in the camping area. Very windy, loud and the water was out which we knew about but the camp host was hooked up to water so not sure whatwas up with the water situation. The freeway and train nearby echo into the canyon and amplify the sound. Not dog friendly. The park itself could really use some very basic maintenance like paint. Graffiti everywhere. The beach which does not allow dogs at all was completely overgrown with weeds. The picnic areas near the beach were very worn and some were missing the shades plus looked like a really good place to get stickers. With not a lot of work or money this place could be so nice but seems like it has been abandoned. The bathrooms were there was water was closed but the pit toilet which is the only bathroom in the RV area was not yet to the super stinky point but not great will be bad in a few months especially with no air flow not even a solar fan on the building. Add some trees and update the RV area seems like it could be a really nice place. The tent camping area is adjacent / in the middle of the public area which seems like a recipe for disaster. At least 0 privacy. So much potential just not well maintained or thought out.

A small, beautiful park along the John Day River at the confluence of the Columbia River. The pull through sites are larger than they appear on a map, and you can fish from the bank at your campsite if you in one of the pull throughs. Too bad the fish weren't as into it as my wife was. We were in our travel trailer, so the condition of the rest rooms is unknown to us.

We enjoy just "sittin' by the river!" Found a couple of restaurants in the area and enjoyed driving to Umatilla and buying fresh cantalope and watermelon.

It would be helpful to have a local directory/maps of places to see and go available on site . We miss having camp hosts as well.

NOISY!!, I wanted desperately to really like this park. When you arrive and see the view of the river, it is really wonderful. Sites are level and paved with gravel in between. We stayed 5 nights an didn’t get one night sleep the whole time we were there. The problem is the expansion joints on the bridge and the occasional train. There is never ending heavy truck traffic across the bridge and it sounds like you are in a drum all day and all night. There is only a pit toilet in the RV area which is very clean, and a bathroom in the park area with showers which were closed because of Covid-19. There is little to no Verizon LTE data only voice. The pull-thrus provide an excellent view of the river. We probability would not stay again because of the noise We camped at LePage Park COE in a Motorhome
