Free hot showers, large campsites with privacy in the trees, access to a beach and river play, plenty of hiking trails everywhere, what is not to like? And with a senior discount, half off an already very reasonable cost! We had a family reunion and rented two campsites, 25 and 26, right next to each other with plenty of room for our 27 foot trailer, several cars and several tents. And a path leading down to the river. I prefer the sites on the river side. The very low numbered sites, 1-3 etc., are on the drive in and out rather than on the circle, so they get more drive by traffic. Also, they are further away from the path to the river but some have lovely views of the river.

I do not want to say how lovely the campground is. I want to keep it to myself. The hosts were very nice and the campground was spotless. Reservations were easy and appreciated. It is near the river so mind those mosquitos. There were plenty. Note that the area around the campground was heavily damaged in 2022, including Susan Creek Falls across the why and for miles in all directions. I would be a drive to get to unscorched recreation.

This campground was recently rebuilt after the fires of a few years ago. Some of the best showers ever at any, state or private also, campground. Beautiful setting with level and pretty spacious sites. Would come back and stay after being there only one night enroute to Crater Lake and Newberry Crater adventures.

I love this campground and may return one day. The trees around the campground are lovely and so are the ones 15 minutes East. The trails to the West were also great and had easy to reach waterfalls, but there were some areas of forest that were affected by wildfires that happened many years ago, although the undergrowth and young trees are growing strong in the entire area. The women’s restroom was kept clean and had hot water. The showers were excellent. The campground was quiet enough and there was some space between sites. More privacy such as more trees planted in between sites would be nice, but it was peaceful. The tent pad was flat and there was plenty of space for relaxing.

This is our favorite campground. It is so beautiful, peaceful and clean. The campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. We were so happy to see that the campground survived the fire.

I only stayed here overnight, so I was here for fewer than 12 hours total, but this seemed like a nice campground that blends being away from a city without having to drive 3 hours for it. The vegetation seems fine to me - I'm not sure why some people are commenting that the fire went through here. No, there is not a fully wall of vegetation dividing each campsite, but that never happens anywhere. The sites are reasonably secluded, although some have a literal path joining them to the next one, which may or may not be what you wanted. Noise pollution is low. Light pollution is high if you stay in the loop part because the bathroom lights are very bright (maybe this is why all the spots along the entrance road were taken). It should not be an issue for sleeping, but it will definitely diminish the out-in-nature vibes. Gate does not seem to be locked at any point, so you can come and go as you please.

One thing I noticed was that there were still hot embers at my campsite when I got in (past 7 PM). I'm guessing that these were left from the previous day and just smoldered because it rained, but they were definitely not out, and I found it a bit surprising that the host had not checked that since there was a giant fire camp set up a few miles to the west to fight a fire to the east.
