We love coming to Sol Duc campground and Hot springs every year, but unfortunately this year we had a very different experience.
The campground B was managed by "younger adult" and for the 4 days we have been there, the bathrooms did not get clean even once. Overrun trash bins in the restrooms and a lot of dirt everywhere. We have seen multiple times, that a lot of campers were looking for the host to buy wood or get information about campsites, but instead he was gone most of the time to the resort hanging out with the younger workers there. Very disappointing behavior. First night we have spent in loop A and then planned to get to B where we had 3 nights reservation. My recreation.gov said that the campsite is available at noon and people suppose to check out at 11. The nigh before our car had some issues and we needed to take it to PA to the service, but needed our little tear drop caravan in the camp as we weren't able to take it with us. Our campsite for the next three days was occupied and people nowhere while it was after 11. We have talked to the host about our situation and waited until 12. Then he mentioned that he will move their stuff. It is unfortunate that people don't tend to those times as well.
Sol Duc Hot springs are also our favorite spots, but a lot of younger people were working there this year, and the bathrooms and showers were literally disgusting as the water was overflowing to the changing rooms and nobody was cleaning the bathrooms, this place could be so much nicer if taken care of. Very disappointed with the customer service.

25 minutes down the valley to route 101 was not something I planned when we stayed here for a week. Also, the hot springs only selling full price tickets for 1.5 hours of pool time that had to be reserved in advance means that the historic attraction of the location is tarnished a bit. good for a short visit, but I would have spent less time here if I had known things I know now. I would have spent more time at Mora campground, or at the forest campground closer to the 101.

Reserved 6 months prior. Flew to Seattle then drove 3.5 hours there just to find out it was closed, nowhere on my Rec.gov app did it say it was closed or that my reservation went through. 5 ?? for Olympic but 0 ?? for rec.gov and the customer service I received after calling 3 times
