Having flown in from the UK to Seattle, Sol Duc was our first stop on our RV road trip. We really enjoyed visiting the Olympic National Park, it was beautiful and the hot springs were a real treat; our children loved dipping between the water temperatures. The toilet and shower facilities there were also really clean and clean fluffy towels are available for a fee if you chose to swim. The RV site was just ok as we were quite disappointed at how car park like it was. As newby RVers we booked onto one of the sites with electric hook up & water on RV013 which was fine if a bit uneven however, we really wished wed taken a non facilities RV pitch as they were in a more beautiful woodland setting and we would have been absolutely fine without electric and water for the 2 nights we were there. Be brave and go for the more wild spots!

Sites are close together. You have to walk 5 minutes to get to a bathroom. We were on the shady side (site 13), and were actually pretty happy with our spot. We enjoyed our time in the hot springs (price not included).

Hot springs were very relaxing and the falls loop trails was wonderful. The rv campground was not much different than a parking lot.If I go back again I will use the regular dry camping area. Much more secluded and pretty environment.

Yes, it is a parking lot. But very close to the hot spring so that was a plus. We were extremely frustrated to learn the dump station was out of order. No sign. No notice. They said it had been closed since last summer. We would have made different arrangements knowing dumping wasnt going to be an available at the end of our stay. I would be prepared that as well as no power. We helped a new camper a couple spots over trouble shoot their power problem and the 30 amp wasnt working at all.

This was our first time here. We came with a camper on a truck Loop A and Loop B were still closed so we had to stay in the RV section. It was terrible. There were no space between each RV, no privacy at all. The ground was just pure mud. It did not make for a fun camping trip.

We were excited about this reservation but when we pulled in to the campground we thought we were at the wrong place. It was like a parking lot with RVs next to each other. Hardly enough space to open your doors to get in and out. The description was so built up that we actually booked 3 nights. We had to turn around and leave. We tried to talk to someone at the hot springs resort but they seemed bothered that we were asking. Our money was totally waisted here. Tried to get a refund but only the 3 rd stay was partially refunded. The tent campground looked nice but there was no availability. Dont book the RV sites , you will be disappointed.

The water spigot in the site next door was leaking in the ground causing a bit of a flood in our site. Sites are small but overall not bad.

Facilities are spotless clean. Receptoonist is a charming young man, the soaking pools are outstanding and not crowded. All in all 5 stars

RV sites were in a large parking lot, but sites were large and there were picnic tables in shady forest spots behind each site. There wasn’t a sign but the lot for RVs was easy to spot, right past the bridge to the hot springs. It is a short walk to hot springs and the river, and was connected to more trails. We had a great stay here.

Good things:
1) the hikes through the old growth forests were beautiful, as was Sol Duc Falls.
Bad things:
1) there was no sign at the entrance to the RV campsite. (drove right by; difficult to turn my fifth-wheel around)
2) the "RV campsite" was basically a parking lot, not what we expected.
3) the trail between the RV campsite and the two tent camping sites was poorly maintained.
4) the closest bathrooms and showers were at the hot springs lodge, over 1000 feet away.
5) the sales staff at the lodge were never friendly; in fact I would consider them consistently rude.

We were happy to get an RV site so close to the hot springs. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring in a wooded area and the campground was very pleasantly quiet at night. However, our site (13) had very poor water pressure and we think the two sites next to us were permanently set up with different tenants coming and going.

Love being so deep in nature. We saw an elk grazing on the road, next to us. Then we went for a dip in the hot springs and a walk to the waterfall. Magnificent area.

I was disappointed to learn that the RV camping is basically a parking lot with all the RV spots pretty close together. There is very little room if you have an extra vehicle to tow your trailer to park it. Also there is no bathroom for the RV camping lot. You have to walk 1/4 mile to the resort (which opens at 7:30 AM) or 4/10 of a mile to camping loop A if you need to use the bathroom and you don’t want to use the bathroom in your camping unit. Resort staff is friendly and helpful. There are no showers in the campgrounds. But, if you pay to use the Hot Springs ( $15 for 90 minutes), You can take a shower in the resort building. Excellent trails for hiking all around. Also kind of disappointed I had to spend $50 a night for electricity and water only. Apparently the federal campgrounds cost more than the state campgrounds do. But if you wanna go somewhere absolutely beautiful, this is the place to be.
