Lovely campground area. Quiet and beautiful, with a trail near to hike to a beautiful falls!

I gave this an extra star because the location is amazing, and the general store did at least have a few things to offer like firewood for purchase and a restaurant that was small but the food was good. However, this is a primitive campground with small sites that are close together. There are no showers available and the hotsprings is crowded and expensive with open showers they actually don't want you to use for showering - they're just for rinsing from the sulfur water springs. Apparently even though you are literally staying in a rain forest, they are pushing the water conservation thing hard there and are talking about limiting the number of campers as a way to limit the water use. While we did love the location and being in the rain forest, and the hot springs were fun, this was not a comfortable stay at all. We stayed for 3 days and not showering for 3 days is just not what we were looking to do. The sites are very close together and we had partiers 2 of the 3 nights keeping us up until early AM hours. One last comment I'd like to add is not related to Sol Duc but to the overall park. This is a National Park - it's a disgrace. The visitor centers are old, run-down, and tiny. We heard foreign visitors literally laughing about the diminutive size of the visitor center displays. We are literally spending TRILLIONS of dollars to destroy and then rebuild the Middle East - and yet we can't even have clean bathrooms in our own National Parks. It's truly disgraceful.
