So many of the sites were 'reserved' and no one ever showed up. I appreciated the reservation system but not having a way for sites to be released for walk ups is incredibly frustrating.

The campground is really nice and so close to the beach! The restrooms and water sources were spaced around the campground (sink in men's room wasn't working when we were there). When we were there (7/5-7/7) it was extremely quiet at night, which actually surprised us (in a good way). The beach is easy to walk on and Ruby Beach is a short drive away. Sunset was amazing. The campground is pretty isolated, so come prepared with everything.

The area was well-maintined, had service at some parts, the proximity to the beach was incredible. Also I love how it wasn't very crowded and the campsites had a decent distance between each other with lots of trees.
Some Coverage

Camp right by the beach and take a short drive up to visit more beautiful beaches like Beach 4 and Ruby Beach. All within a short drive from the campground. The only bad thing was how close together the camp sites were. B009 was soo close to the neighbors I felt inclined to whisper when they went to bed. Make sure you do your research and get a corner spot or a more private one. Tip: bring hand soap for the bathroom.

The location is wonderful and you hear the ocean at night. The campground is quiet. We were very close to the neighboring campers. The camp host was not around much and the bathrooms needed soap the whole time we were there and were not clean.
Major Issues

Kalaloch campground is nice and well-maintained. Scenery is spectacular, with trees shaped by wind and a massive sandy beach. Make sure to check out the Tree of Life below the campground - it looks dramatically different depending on the time of day, if skies are clear and sunny. That's kinda the crux of it, though. It's not always clear and sunny, as it rains a lot at Kalaloch. I'm sure you know that and are checking the forecast, but in my experience the sites take on a lot of water and don't drain it very well. We had fun engineering a set of drainage ditches but this campground can get pretty dreary when wet. The sites are also often very close together, I assume due to the park's summer popularity. There are several loops that are more private (they're pretty clear on the map) but in general I wouldn't count on much privacy unless you're here in the off season. In short, Kalaloch is a really, really nice beach and it has a really nice campground - there's just better campgrounds out there. I'd still highly recommend this to anyone for a sunny weekend or longer.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
