Kalaloch doesnt disappoint. Getting A19 was a welcome surprise. The site is convenient to beach access and restrooms. Best part is its private and has enough around it to shield you from some of the wind. When I say private, the ranger called to see if I was coming as she missed my tent set up when doing site checks! Id recommend coming during the week when there are more sites available to choose from; also tends to be more peaceful.

I went camping here with my boyfriend and we both really enjoyed this spot. We love how the shrubs gave us a privacy wall from people driving/walking by. The branches and shrubs were maintained allowing us to view the ocean and have enough leg room to set up our 10x8 tent and 10x10 canopy. The view of the ocean was beautiful and the sound of the waves was very relaxing at night. We did notice a couple small snakes near the shrubs closest to the road, but the snakes didnt bother us. Surprisingly, there werent that many bugs around us. The stairs to the beach was only a 2 minute walk down which was very convenient for us. The walk to the restroom was less than a minute. Theres also a fish washing station, water pump, and the dumpsters near the restroom closest to the entrance of the campgrounds. We would definitely come back! Seeing the tree of life was nice as well.

There was an entire campsite closed for a small limb hanging from a tree. I could remove that limb in about 5 minutes with a ladder and handsaw.

We had an oceanfront site that hadn’t had any maintenance. I chopped out the protruding bushes myself.

They’ve been working on a shower facility for more than two years that isn’t complete. Campsites are being closed for no apparent reason? There is some bluff damage but some of the sites have been closed just because they can.

There were no ranger programs for the kids. This included Sol Duc which we stayed in over July 4th.
Overall it’s a sad state of affairs rife with laziness.

I hope someday the campground is returned to its former glory. It is well used and well loved. I’m not sure why it’s so neglected.

The site A19 had a great location with tall shrubs making the site very private. It's very close to the beach 2 minute walk to the silky soft sand and waves. There's a picnic area on one side and an empty lot on the other. It had a large picnic table and a fire ring with a thick metal and a thin mash-type double grill. They were height adjustable too. The tent area was secluded by salmon berry bushes. The sound of the sea was constant and powerful 24/7 like camping next to a large waterfall! Overall, we enjoyed staying camping here.

Got lucky and scored an oceanfront site for a night. Great location all the way around.
