We stayed at site 42 in Kalaloch Campground and it was absolutely perfect for tent camping. The site felt incredibly secluded, giving the sense of camping deep in nature, even though the campground is fairly large. It was quiet, peaceful, and spacious, making it one of our favorite spots of the trip. Its just a short walk to the beach, where you can catch stunning sunsets, and Kalaloch Lodge is nearby with an excellent restaurant if youre looking to enjoy a nice meal without cooking. This location is also ideal for exploring the southwest side of Olympic National Park, including Ruby Beach and the Hoh Rainforest.Highly recommend Kalaloch campground if you're looking for solitude, beauty, and easy access to all the highlights of the coast.

This was a beautiful and well maintained park. We had a wonderful time and would go again. Our site was level and large, with no close neighbors. We didn't have a view of the lake but enjoyed walking down the trails to spend time at the beach. The shower would not go off when I finished, so it wasted a huge amount of water. I reported it and was told this was a known problem. There was some noise from the highway above us.

Unbelievable place. We loved it so much! I wish we stayed longer, but definitely will be back. Highly recommend!

Ruby Beach, Hoh Rain Forest, long walks on Kalaloch Beach. Know your pad length - most sites are very short and cannot accommodate an RV and/or travel trailer, making unhitching mandatory then parking your vehicle sideways or somewhere else.

After my first stay at Kalaloch, I knew Id be back! This is a great spot to stay if exploring the many spots around the coast and Natl Park. There are multiple trails from the campground leading a short distance to the beach. My campsite was private and those nearby were friendly and abided by noise curfew. Peaceful and enjoyable place to make your home away from home.

The campsites are very small and right on top of each other, so there's very little privacy or the feeling of "wilderness." That being said, the sites are very well maintained, the concrete picnic tables are excellent (though sometimes in strange places that make setting up a tent difficult), and the views from the front sites on the coast are stunning. A warning, the sites that run along the 101 highway are very much open to the road and can be seen by everyone. Plus the road noise is significant, definitely try not to book those, unless it's in the A loop.

When we booked this site, the picture showed a site that had beach view. Our site was buried in bush area. Tent pad leveled down on both sides, so no matter how we turned the tent, our heads lay lower then our body. This is a terrible tent site.

We love camping at Kalaloch every summer. The only downfall is trying to book a reservation.

Drive is gorgeous and full of places to stop once you get into the park. The sunlight drifting through the mossy trees makes it look like a fairytale...it's really something else. I recommend exploring as much of the coast as you can - lots of trails with aforementioned fairytale feelz. The whole place felt private and so expansive as the camping spots were limited. We booked it last minute and didn't get a spot near the beach but it was practically there - just a 1 minute walk, all of the spots will work fine but of course if you can get a spot with a view of the ocean do it. Everyone at the camp was friendly and laid back, just there to enjoy nature. We had a picnic on the beach watching the unreal sunset. Will for sure be doing this every single year as much as I can. This is why we need to protect our forests. Thank you to those who keep it thriving and pristine.
