Kalaloch is one of my most favorite spots to go camping. The weather is always unpredictable but regardless, it's always a wonderful experience. The campground is well maintained and the bathrooms are nice, but lacking showers. There's a small store a short walk down by the lodge if you forget something. Walking on the beach, flying a kite or watching whales (we saw one) are relaxing activities. Be sure and bring what you need, because there are very limited shopping opportunities within 20 or so miles.

Beautiful beach and campground. Wi-fi was not good but it was good to be unconnected!

Kalaloch has been my favorite place to camp since I first encountered it 56 years ago. Lots of years tenting and many more trailering.
The beach is miles long with no vehicles, huge driftwood logs, clean sand. At low tide you can explore tide pools around huge rocks that are submerged at high to medium tides. Eagles are seen multiple time a day, and this trip we saw three gray whales cavorting near the shore one morning.
Every site has a campfire ring and several have spectacular ocean views. There were at least as many tents as RV's this trip.
Kalaloch is about 40 miles from the fascinating moss-covered Hoh Rain Forest and 70 miles from beautiful Lake Crescent. 35 miles the other direction is Lake Quinault. Kalaloch, Lake Crescent and Lake Quinault all have old-style timber lodges with rooms for rent, and each lodge has a decent sit-down restaurant.
Plan several days. If Kalaloch isn't on your bucket list it should be.

Needs showers, that would be an incredible enhancement, please do not increase senior pass fees, please do not PRIVATIZE any of our National parks. I love Kaaloch and the Olympic NP.
