Also in the A loop, the women’s restroom had two stalls, but one of them was out of order the entire weekend. This resulted in lines forming and was difficult for me and for some of the kids I saw around.
Those were the biggest drawbacks. However, the up sides were numerous! You can walk down to Kalaloch beach from the campground (and my space next to the campground host was very close to the pathway). Kalaloch beach is quiet and flat. Kind of similar to Ocean Shores and Long Beach, but not very populated.
Plus the AMAZING Ruby Beach with gorgeous sea stacks is a quick ten minute drive up the road and extremely worth a visit. I went down there three different times over a two-night stay. Just amazing. It was more popular, but because it’s so large and there are so many sea stacks, it didn’t feel crowded even on a sunny afternoon. When the tide was coming in at sunset, I was one of 5 people down there watching the breakers crash and a sea lion play in the waves.
The campground itself was clean, and I appreciated the water station next to the restrooms. I’d definitely camp here again, but might try to get a spot further from the highway.
