When we booked the site we read the reviewswe did I promise!!! The road noise!!!! Wowthe road noise was a bit much. Not just a little!!! It sounded like these logging trucks were trying to make the most noise possible!!The bathrooms smelled of urine and from a post from 2-3 months ago that someone else posted on is that the womens bathroom is STILL not repaired!!!! One toliet not working!!! I asked of how often the bathrooms are cleaned and was told twice a day!!! Lies lies lies!!!!Oh and dont bring in firewood!!! Even if you dont burn it in a fire ban, theyll confiscate it!!!! People are having fires down the road for crying out loud!!!Oh NPSand vloluntersdo better!!! I mean what else do you have to do on a day to day bases!!!!

Awesome beach. Very much enjoyed seeing the tide at different levels and running along the shore with the pup. Nice Park Rangers - certified the pup as a Bark Ranger and showed a presentation of some sort that we missed. General store within walking distance proved valuable when missing tin foil.

Beautiful experience for me! My campsite was spacious and allowed for my brother's family to tent with room for my RV. The younger boys had so much fun exploring the beaches and trails. I have limits on my mobility but was still able to easily view the beach from the trail top and even got down and back up the beach stairs once (with help). Although the camp ground was full, the beaches never seemed crowded and the Rangers and Hosts were always friendly and helpful. Loved that there were no vehicles racing up and down the beach. Relieved a lot of worry while the kids were playing in the sand.

The restroom situation was horrid. In my loop one stall and one sink in the women’s side, the other was out of order.

I was in space A003, which is one of the spaces listed as having road noise from the highway. It definitely does! Fortunately at night there aren’t a lot of drivers, so it quiets down, but definitely expect to hear cars all day in this space.

Also in the A loop, the women’s restroom had two stalls, but one of them was out of order the entire weekend. This resulted in lines forming and was difficult for me and for some of the kids I saw around.

Those were the biggest drawbacks. However, the up sides were numerous! You can walk down to Kalaloch beach from the campground (and my space next to the campground host was very close to the pathway). Kalaloch beach is quiet and flat. Kind of similar to Ocean Shores and Long Beach, but not very populated.

Plus the AMAZING Ruby Beach with gorgeous sea stacks is a quick ten minute drive up the road and extremely worth a visit. I went down there three different times over a two-night stay. Just amazing. It was more popular, but because it’s so large and there are so many sea stacks, it didn’t feel crowded even on a sunny afternoon. When the tide was coming in at sunset, I was one of 5 people down there watching the breakers crash and a sea lion play in the waves.

The campground itself was clean, and I appreciated the water station next to the restrooms. I’d definitely camp here again, but might try to get a spot further from the highway.

Great beach, clean restrooms, sites are a little tight but understandable. Nice common picnic table in Loop A for sunset.
