Lovely campsite, walk-in #79, a short walk from parking. Partial view of the gorgeous lake, short walk to beach, camp store, and docks. You can hear the road noise from the highway but also plenty of birdsong. Totally worth it. Hope to return and stay longer.

What a magical experience! This may be the best campsite I've ever gotten to stay at. There was so much room, close enough walk to the bathrooms, and the views were beautiful. Will definitely be recommending to all.

The location at the west end of Lake Crescent is fantastic, as is the proximity to the Spruce RR Grade Trail but if you are hoping to get a good night's sleep, this is not the place to camp. Hwy 101 is just across the narrow part of the lake and the cars and logging trucks pass through at all hours so even with ear plugs, I could hear the road noise. It was a nice place to experience, but never again.

We stayed in site 89, which is one of the walkin sites and is along the lake. The site is absolutely beautiful, and the bear box was closer than the map made it seem. While the site was large and with stunning views, it is important to note that it isn't very flat, so consider that in anticipation of your tent arraingments.Close to the campground is the fairhome grocery store. When we were there, it had only chips, packaged sweets, hot dogs and beer. Nice to have, but not nice if you plan on restocking food while there. We took a 15 minute drive for dinner at the Lake Crescent Lodge, and it was one of the better meals that I've had in a while. Expensive, but worth it. With the campground as our basecamp, we hikes Seven Lakes Basin (hard, but highly recommended) and finished with a dip in the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. We also hiked Hurricane Ridge to Hurricane Hill. Far less hard, but definitely beautiful.I would highly recommend Fairholme Campground.

First off, the supposed "lakefront" spots, aren't. We had #79 which sat above several other sites that actually were lakefront. And we knew going in that we were in a walk-in spot however it seemed the parking spot you were assigned based on your campsite was very strangely set to be the farthest away. The other item was that Fairholme Campground is REALLY close to HWY 101 so we essentially camped next to a VERY noisy freeway. If you like all of that, go to Fairholme Campground.

Beautiful campsites, unreal sunsets and sunrises - the walk in sites are well worth the extra hassle of lugging your stuff down.
