Very cool spot with a great view of the lake! If youre an experienced camper then these sites may be kinda close together/crowded. These sites are perfect if youre just getting into camping but still want a little privacy! This place is also very close to the most popular trails. We will be back!

Dont be fooled by the picture. The site is located right next to 2 other sights, with a 3rd just above this site. Great location but extremely crowded

The campground is very compact and the tent sites are right on top of each other. We stayed at site #71 and our neighbors were so close it was almost as if we were at the same site. The ground was extremely compacted and it was difficult to get MSR Groundhog stakes in securely, not to mention the sloped ground at that site. Highway 101 is in view and earshot the whole time so expect a bunch of noise. Also, parking spots are numbered in correlation with the tent sites. #71 does not have a designated parking spot which was very confusing on top of the out of numerical order parking sites. Was in the Rainier/ Olympic area 11 nights and spent 7 in a tent between back country permits and front county camp sites like this. Fairholme was definitely the worst of the 7 nights.

This site is beautiful, and has a great view of the lake - highly recommend. However, I will say it is very close to the sites on either side, and there is no cover insulating you from campers at those site. If you prefer some privacy while camping, this is not the site for you. If you are going with a group and reserved the two sites on either side for members of your group, that would be ideal.
