We snagged one of the late release sites - which went within 1 minute of release! Site 4 was decent with two nice areas for a giant tent and a tiny tent. The only drawback at this site was being close to the always-on bathroom lights. Overall, this is a well-kept campground with beautiful trees, clean and functional bathrooms, dishwashing station, and a solid swimming "beach" (by PNW standards) where the water is far warmer than the glacial-fed rivers or the ocean! The walk-in sites are sweet if you are traveling on the lighter side, have backpack gear, or don't mind a little exercise. We prefer less crowded campgrounds, but it's hard to beat this CG location for proximity as a jumping off site for the park. It's popularity indicates how badly they need at least another one or two in the area.

ite 4 loop AEnjoyed our base camp for doing the Olympic Discovery Trail!Site is next to the bathrooms and has a shared bear box by the fire pit. It feels to be one of the smaller sites (although the one to the right looked smaller).Site is ideal for a large single tent (ours was a 6P) but could comfortably do two smaller tents side by side.Trees are spaced well for hammock camping but need to bring extra straps for more webbing (one tree required two Eno Atlas straps to get around it).We had two SUVs with bike racks and squeezed both into the parking spot (which looks to be relatively flat ). Since our cars took up all of the parking area, it was difficult to have access to the exit. Parking spot is like the tent space :-) better for one larger vehicle or two small ones. The picnic table is central which makes it hard to put a tarp over top to protect from rain. The candidate trees were just a little too far and wide around for what we brought. An awning or structure over the table would work best! No showers at this site, but potable water and trash are available! The Callum Transit Bus 14 (goes to Forks or Port Angeles) stops outside of the store and its a .25 mile walk to the camp site. It was about 4 miles with a gentle rail trail grade bike ride to the ODT! Had decent Verizon reception and for lighter sleepers would recommend bringing an eye mask (light from the bathroom) and ear plugs (other campers).

Good stop to see Crescent Lake and then head off to the coast.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Fairhome campground. The location is stunning! Loved swimming in the clear lake and the facilities were clean and well maintained. My only piece of feedback is that it would be great if there were showers at the park.

Excellent! Clean bathroom, clean campsite. Best view and beach at Lake Crescent!
