The campsite on the water was wonderful and beautiful. Really loved waking up to the lake, and the bathrooms were well maintained with a good wash up station. One complaint is that the site was a little loud with passing traffic and car headlights passing by. Next time would bring earplugs and an eye mask. But still had a wonderful time and grateful I landed a spot thru the cancellation alert system!

Positives: The Lake and surrounding mountains were beautiful. Easy to find campground. Proximity to Sol Duc and Port Angeles. Areas of Improvements: bathroom was undersized for campground. Long lines to access during busy times in evening before sunset. Nearby 101 had 24/7 logging truck activity. The sounds of large trucks accelerating westward up the hill and then gear breaking when coming down eastwards echoed across the lake making for an anxious and unsteady night of sleep. Bring earplugs, especially if your campsite is near the lake shore.

The campground itself is in a very central location and it's beautiful. Most of the sites were large enough and didn't feel like you were on top of your neighbor. However, site 84 is one of the smallest sites I saw, and it's very tight being between the trail and the lake. There really is room for one smaller tent (maybe a 4 person?) and not much else. We had a few 1 and 2 person backpacking tents and it didn't work for us unfortunately. If you want to be on the water and around all the action, it would be fine. It's not exactly close to the bath house either if that's a concern.

Nice walk-in spot right on the water. Only downside is there's very little room for a tent and only a small one at that. The only reasonably flat-ish spot was right next to the trail. If you've got a one or two person backpacking tent you could fit but there really isn't space for anything bigger than that.
