The Willaby Campground in general is pretty nice. Each site is far enough apart that you can only kind of see a neighbor. The beach isn't gigantic, but nice enough. We had bad boat noise one day, but the rest were fine. There a couple of trails you can access right from the campground, and the maps are very good. The 3 stars is specifically for site 19, and more specifically for Recreation.gov not providing adequate information about the site in the site details. It says "hike in distance: 25". It doesn't say that it is 25 mostly steep steps down to the tent pad and then another 13 steps to the picnic table and fire pit. On the plus side... the bathrooms on this side of camp are much nicer than the ones by the beach. The parking for this site is also reasonably long. We could easily fit our full-size truck. It could fit 2 smaller vehicles.

This was our first time camping at Willaby, we reserved site #19. There were about 30 steps down to the campsite itself, which helped seclude it a bit. Take note of the tent pad size. Our tent was too big for the space so we had to set it up as best we could (our fault). However, the boat(?) noises from the lake. Exceptionally loud, sounded as if they were racing or something. Very difficult to disconnect with a surrounding environment such as that. Probably wont return to this campground. Lake was great though!

Beautiful place with lake, huge trees, and trails.
We stayed in #19, which is accessed via staicase from the carport (30 steps or so I would say), secruded and with a raised tent pad. We enjoyed the sunset right in front of us through the woods over the lake from our tent. We also enjoyed a short hikes on the trails accessible from the camp ground.
The closest outhouse was closed, so we used the main bathroom down the path, a few minutes walk. Bathroom was clean, bear-proved trash bins were maintained well.
We will definitely come back.
