The yurt (#50) was really cute, as described by others. It was fun to listen to all the different woodland creatures- the owl, the squirrels, other birds, and the chipmunks. There was a peek-a-boo view of the lake, but an easy access trail to get to it. The bathrooms weren't too far away, but the path is unlit, so you will need to wait for your eyes to adjust or carry a small flashlight. The path does have you walking by other campers, so we were extra conscientious about our light and being quiet. The camp host was AMAZING. He was friendly, nice to talk to, and very helpful. If I could ask for one change, we would have liked to be able to open the top of the yurt to let in more airflow. Overall, I loved the experience and would go back.

I reserved Yurt #50 for a two night girls trip to hike and paddle. I want to start by clearly stating that it Does Not Sleep Eight! Its a bit misleading in the facility details / descriptions about number of people. The Yurt itself has one bunk bed (twin top and full bottom) and one Futon (full) and sleeps *comfortably three people five people a bit squished. I suppose you could put an air mattress on floor, but then youd have no place to walk. I also suppose you could fit one or two tents outside (small tents 2-3 person). We made it work with 4 of us, but definitely surprised when we opened the door on arrival. Aside from yurt occupancy, yurt was clean and right next to the lake (short walk down with our paddle boards). The space allocated for yurt reservation had a firepit with grate for grilling, picnic table and very private at end of walkway, so people were not walking through our site. The campground is really nice and the lake is beautiful with wide open grassy area for day use and campers. There is a swimming area that is sheltered between dam and a log boom off the grass area the boatRamp is on other side with beaches to hangout on and launch water toys. We hiked around the lake, about 14miles - a fair amount of trail has overgrown brush and stickers or ankle biters as we started calling them. It was a long day, but not terribly hard or technical with not much elevation gains. It was a good hike for us, we did not have to drive anywhere and started right fromOur campsite however, I dont think I would have traveled very far specifically to do this hike and I would not consider it as a destination hike. We had a wonderful time out on the lake with our paddle boards. The area surrounding campground and lake is gorgeous. I would come back again. Oh! And Al the camp host is wonderful. Very friendly. Bathrooms clean - no showers.

The yurt was nice and clean and its fun to swim at the lake. However, if youre looking for a camping trip of solitude, this is not the place for you. Campsites are placed nearly on top of each other and everyone will be walking through the middle of your yurt campsite to access the water even though there is a posted sign at this specific yurt telling people not to trespass as its a reserved site. Everyone will still walk through, even if youre sitting at your picnic table eating dinner with your family. Its still a fun place to be if youre simply looking for water play, but dont expect any of the privacy most desire when camping.

Beautiful forest setting with a lake that’s great for boating and swimming. Staff are outstanding and deliver firewood and ice. We brought a wagon which helped get gear from parking lot to yurts.

Excellent campground! Very well kept with awesome hosts. Beautiful location. Signage around the local roads (outside of the site) could be better for navigating given the complete lack of cell service. Bring a paper map if you plan to navigate into the forest roads.

Great way to lower the ole blood pressure! Yurt #50 is the best of the 3 yurts they have to offer! i had birds landing on my finger tips eating out of the palm of my hand early morning off of the yurt deck! plus lots of space and trails to roam! Very mellow, super chill!

Love this place and will contiue to return! The camp hosts are friendly and very helpful. Bathrooms are clean and plenty of trash cans near the parking lot to dispose of garbage. This was first time booking a yurt and wasn't disappointed. Beds were comfy and I love the back deck area for just chilling and absorbing the beauty of it all. There is one outlet with 2 receptacles for plugging in your electronics, there is also a built in heater but didn't need it for this trip with the warm weather we were having. I'd recommend bringing a cart or wheeled cooler since this is the last yurt on the path and furthest from the parking lot. Pack light and make it easier on yourself LOL. There is a tent spot (#49 I think) right next to your table/firepit area so book it too If you want more privacy or friends joining.
