Wide campsites spaced comfortably apart...view of the lake from several campsites...lovely walking trail around the lake...well-maintained...centrally-located bathrooms...firewood available when campfires are allowed...32 miles from internet...just a great place to kick back and relax and enjoy nature and peace and quiet. Reasonably priced. I would go back!

Easily our favorite place to camp. Secluded. Beautiful. Quiet. The sites are large. The access to the lake is convenient. And it is a short drive from Tacoma! Get here as often as we can.

Love everything about it!!! Beautiful secluded clean spots. Wish there were hookups and water.

Loved this campground. Each site offered just the right amount of privacy. The proximity to the lake and shared services was greatly appreciated. Campground host was very friendly and welcoming.

I will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Cheers

First time here and it was better than anything we expected. No problem getting in with our 30ft trailer. Large private sites, CLEAN flush toilets—soap to wash hands!! Early August and though water level was low, lots of room to cool off in swim area. Great Lake for boating, jet skis, canoe, kayak or SUP.

We had made online reservations but when we arrived there were plenty of FCFS sites available including our favorites in the A loop. Sites are situated far apart in this CG and ours (#13) was very private. The host was very nice and the grounds were well kept and frequented by employee golf cart drive-bys to keep the peace. We try to come here at least once a year timed early to mid July for the area huckleberries, both red and blue berries here! Another good time to come is at end of season when the leaves are turning colors. It gives you a real deep in the woods and far from civilization feeling to be out here... no phone service but there is a land line phone booth at the entrance of the day use parking. Wynoochee Falls is a favorite place to visit in the area. Swimming in Wynoochee Lake or wading in the W. River are favorite past times. Cute little Douglas squirrels can be curious and you might wake up to crows checking out your camp site in the morning so keep a tidy camp. Don't forget to bring something to fend off the bugs. Both mosquitoes and these other little black gnats like to hang out at all the wrong times.

Fishing poles were stolen out of the middle of our camp. After walking the camp the next day we saw signs posted saying beware of fishing gear theft. Must be a local cause it's enough of a problem they have signs. The site and facilities were clean and the environment was beautiful. Will go there again but afraid to leave anything outside now.
