I gave it 2 stars because the sites are beautiful and we love the lake. Otherwise, it gets only 1 star. We will not be returning after going there many years. We stayed 6 nights on this trip and never once saw a ranger drive by. 2 of the sites around us had at least 20-30 people on them with music turned all the way up and dogs running freely. There were so many cars you could hardly get by them with a boat or trailer. Many complaints were made to the camp host who tried to tell them to turn down the music but the campers ignored them. If the campgrounds open April 1st, I believe the rangers should be available on the weekends.
We also were told that we could not come to our site before 6:00 pm on our check in day even though the site is empty. That is not a problem at any other park.
Tall Chief Cove has become a rowdy party park without any supervision. They are enforcing rules that don’t make that much difference but letting rules for safety just be ignored. We witnessed someone driving down a stretch of road by campsites doing at least 35 mph. All this reported to camp host which they could do nothing about and rangers were unavailable. We will stick to quieter campgrounds.

This is such a wonderful place to go camping. The sunsets are so beautiful there and the camp host is super friendly. The bathrooms are the best I've ever seen at any camp ground. Looking forward to wearing our welcome out here for sure!!!! :)

The lakeside sites in loop A and B have a beautiful view of the lake. Bring extra water hose with you as you can hook up to water but it may be a distance away.
