It seemed nice. We just stayed the night. We were a little disappointed when we realized the bathrooms were closed for the season. Would have been nice if this was published on the website so we could have made an informed decision.

Older campground with mostly unlevel, dusty grey slag campsites. Electrical utility post and water faucet may not be conveniently located (ours was located on opposite side of our campers hookups). I cant comment on bathhouse as we didnt use it . We did not see a camp host on arrival, so we just found an open site and used reservation.gov to reserve it. Out of the way park, about 30 minutes from Tulsa/Jenks area. IMO, Just Ok for a cheap overnight stay if nothing else is available.

While camping at Heyburn, I noticed that the water access was large and there was plenty of beach space. I did not go out during a holiday, but it was a full weekend. Check In was simple. The employee hands you a check in slip to place on your cars dash for the ranger to verify. The campsite was clean. The bathrooms need some updating. The men's bathroom has one urinal and one enclosed stall that could fall off the wall. I did notice that employees did visit the bathrooms at least once a day to restock the paper. The showers are not adjustable. You will get a warm/hot shower. There is a kids park inside the campgrounds that is well kept. This site has shade from trees on the east, but receives direct sunlight from the west. Overall, this is a great campsite and campgrounds.

I feel a couple of things should be mentioned to future campers - in paved roads leading into the park & 50’ water hose is needed. Recents rains left large washed out/holes in the unpaved road.
