Lake was very swampy. There were a lot of dead fish floating in the water because the water temp was just too warm. Very small lake and there was only one water station for the entire campground.

Super beautiful place. Love the site, been camping here since I was a kid. Only complaint is all the yellow jackets. I dont think I have seen that many bees in one place before. Small price to pay though. Walton lake will always have a special place in my heart.

Items to note:
Only 1 working water spigot which required driving around the lake to get to. So bring plenty of your own water.
Snakes! While amazing creatures in the water it made us hesitant to swim :-)

It was beautiful and the restrooms were kept clean. My only complaint was the volume of the frogs at night. 🥹

I understand no flush toilet in the campground, but there is not even a sink or a place to brush your teeth, that is so disappointing.

The campground hosts, John and Ann are awesome. John greeted me warmly as soon as I arrived. Later that 1st evening Ann drove by the site, stopped and asked if I needed anything. They keep the campground and facilities very clean.

Campsite #20, which we had reserved, and others on that side of the lake were walk-in sites which was not made clear on the reservation website information. Our group had an 82 year old with mobility issues and having the picnic table & tents down a flight of stairs and the bathroom up the stairs and across the road was not going to work for us. Fortunately, the camp host, John, was very helpful to assist us in finding another campsite option for our 3 night stay. It would be nice if there was a way to release the first site and use a different site without having to pay for both, but I understand, ,sort of, why that is not possible. It was our group's first time at Walton Lake and we enjoyed it very much.

Amazing. Ann was such a great host! Bathrooms had a light for night time. Such a nice touch. Not sure why there were so many dead fish - kinda weird. But such a great little lake and experience. Thank you !

Only 1 water spigot. Cattle graze well into the campground. Some campsites are a decent walk away from where you can park your car, making heavy gear typically used while car camping a pain to lug back and forth. Noticeable traffic noise, maybe from logging in the area?

Tent only sites on the far side of the lake are down a pretty steep hill, especially site 20. The lake is sweet and the trail around it is lovely. Just be prepared to haul your gear up and down a steep hill if you're in a tent only site.
