Flys were ridiculous. I don't know if it's just time of year or area, but they're terrible, fly traps all over. Campgrounds were clean and tidy, so it wasn't that.

What a great park! Lots of walking areas and spots for a quick dip in the river. Bird watching is fun and deer pass through early mornings. ( a little deet comes in handy though )

Very well maintained campground. Nice sized sites. Stayed overnight as we were passing thru the area. Definitely checkout the Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site in Stanton.

Beautiful views of the Missouri. Very well maintained and mostly spacious campsites. The hatchery and power plant tours are a definite plus.

I enjoyed both the trails and the fish hatchery. Unfortunately there was a fly infestation, hard to even sit outside!

We were blessed with great weather. Some of the gophers got a little friendly. They were trying to climb the outdoor grill and climbed our camper steps. Just curious what the camp hosts do. I would think they would at least introduce themselves. The one parked next to us never came to our campsite. We've camped at Downstream since the 1960's. Thanks for all the memories.

Worst campground ever! Dog crap all over our site. Huge potholes. Firepit full of cigarette butts. Several camp hosts and none asked us about our site. No wood available. Many miles away from any services and almost nothing beautiful to see. We are very experienced campers and will never return to North Dakota or this campground again.
