Always enjoy Bandits Roost - we live close by and this was a "shakedown" trip for our new trailer. We are fortunate to have such a great campground within an hours drive of our home.

Bandit Roosts Campground was nice, place for tents, small and large campers. Larger campers 40+ ft need to use loop A because loop B has a BIG tree on the curve . A loop also has pull through with view of the lake. Playground, bathrooms and showers available. Dont arrive before 3:00 pm or you may have to turn around and come back later. Know your site # when you arrive. No sewage at site but two dump stations ALoop is longer and pull throughs for big rigs. We have a 44 ft 5th wheel and we got into 99 with very little problems (except big tree on the turn.). Fire pits at each campground and firewood available to purchase. Cons: tree limbs blocked the view on the lake in 99 and 100. Need trimming, site wasnt level. You must drive 45 minutes to Blowing Rock! Its sooo worth the drive, but fill up on gas because stations are few. Go to blowing rock observatory. Military discount. Restaurants are expensive and playground on Main Street. Enjoy.

We always love Bandit's Roost. One of the nearby campgrounds is closed due to a culvert failure (?!) and everyone has flooded the other campgrounds. Very crowded conditions this time and good luck booking anything!

Two night stay went well even though it rained hard both nights. Found a new trail that we liked very much - guess it wasn't crowded because of the rain. Gravel pad needed more gravel. In and out without trailer using gate key code wasn't explained and was a bit confusing. Overall great place to camp.

We have enjoyed camping here over the years ,very nice friendly staff ,rangers and sheriffs dept patrol area ,nice quiet peaceful ,beaches on the lake ,fishing ,tube or kayak down the yadkin river also we have rented boats from local marina ,we have always enjoyed our time there .
