Even though the weather wasn't great, we had a great time. Definitely recommend going by Dixie Donuts for a special treat. We always enjoy our stays at Bandits Roost. Clean campground and nice spots to camp at.

I've been going to Bandits Roost for many years and I must say this time the park looked the worst it has ever been. When we arrived at our site it hadn't been cleaned up, still ashes and trash in the fire pit. The dumpsters were completely full on Friday so as you can imagine by Sunday there was so much trash that you could barely see a dumpster was even there. I never did see anyone at the guard house and I dont know where the usual camp hosts were but they have always done a good job of taking care of the park and managing anything that needs done.

Large sites and easy to get in and out. We love the privacy of our site and we were there for the fall colors and was not disappointed! The site could use some improvements its looking worn down and could be a safety hazard for campers. But we love coming there and its been our second time.

beautiful campground and well run. The reservation system is not the best. Good luck finding any sites open on a Saturday as they are booked up as soon as they are released.

Wonderful time to visit the lake. Marvin, camp host on duty was an excellent ambassador for the campground. Knowledgeable & interesting to talk to; he & his wife with the other team, keep Bandit's Roost campground in good shape.

We camp at Bandit's Roost regularly with our RV since it is only about 30 miles from home. The lake with boating (boat ramp in the campground), fishing, swimming plus the hiking/biking trail options make a nice getaway. The sites have water, electric, picnic table, concrete grilling table, barbeque grill and campfire pits with most sites in wooded areas. Beware sites may have squirrels that will crack acorns and drop them on your roof. :) You can purchase firewood bundles. The only inconvenience is there are no sewer hookups at the site but there are two dump sites available in the campground near each of the two restrooms/shower buildings so you can either bring a wheeled tank or drive your RV to the sites if you should need to empty your waste water tanks. The cost is very reasonable especially since I have an "America the Beautiful" Senior Lifetime pass that gives me half off the already low price. They don't have a camp store but it is about a ten minute drive to the large grocery store, fast food and restaurants if you need something or even just a break from camping. There is a gas station on the way where you can buy fishing bait. Make sure you have your fishing license since the Park Rangers / game wardens regularly pass through. Near the dam there is an information center where you and the kids can learn about the area. The people at the campground check-in/guard shack are always friendly and helpful. They will loan you a life jacket if you need it which I took advantage of when my 5 year old grandson needed one. You use the recreation.gov website to book sites which allows up to six months in advance and the waterfront sites book as soon as that six month window allows. They have tent only sites but I have never used one of those. There is also a playground for the kids, basketball court and amphitheater which has a Sunday morning worship services.

This is one the best RV sites I have stayed at in a long time. The only thing that I could recommend is they need to make the site a little more safer when you exit your RV. The site was very private and deep. The lake was beautiful and the sites along the lake very nice. Everyone was quite and friendly. The staff were excellent and friendly. The campgrounds were impeccable. My wife and I will be back again.

Super nice view. Large site with lots of elbow room. Very friendly volunteers. We camped for 4 nights and loved it.
